Just a quick update for those who might be interested :)
:dog: Sheba loves the water and is the first one in lakes and rivers, however, she has not tried to get into our pool as we had feared. Good for her (and us) as it means she can go freely out into the garden on her own. Since we moved, she has become calmer (not that she was hyper, just seemed unsure and a little nervous) and is no longer glued to me every step I take. She still stays in the same room, but there are several feet between her and me!
:dog: Dani is happy, there are squirrels to bark at, birds galore and even little brown things that jump in the grasses! (frogs that is). She is totally disinterested in the pool, and couldn't care less if we're in it or not (Sheba tends to follow us along the edge).
:cat: Misti runs like mad from one end of the house to the other, climbs on anything and everything that is as high as possible - which includes the suspended pot-light "shelf" over the kitchen counter and island! - goes out on leash on the balcony and even down to the garden as well. My SIL saw that and freaked : "cat on a leash?! I never saw a cat on a leash!" lol. Her cat won't emerge from her bedroom, because she's scared of the dog.
All in all, we're all happy with our new home, and there was nothing disfunctionning at all (save the pool heater, but with the water at 24-27ºC depending on sunshine/clouds, who cares?). I've been thinning out and clearing the garden - and getting bitten by lots of bugs in the process - bagging the branches and getting rid of them. Hopefully by the end of the summer we'll have changed it around a little and made it look less like a jungle.
Thanks to all who have helped with vet info! I've made notes of the good ones guys
