Cats and dogs have different nutritional requirements. Put the cat food where the dog can't get it and get a good quality dog food for your dog. There are lots listed on the food forum here.

No, as has already been noted, there are very different nutritional needs for both cats and dogs and cat food will not give your dog what he needs and can actually have negative effects in some instances.

What dog food brands have you tried?

Check out the labels. I believe that most cat foods have almost double the protein of dog foods

Dogs are omnivores, meaning they eat both meats and plants, while cats are strictly carnivores, meaning that they only eat other animals. In a pinch, it's not so bad to give your cat some dog food, but cat food to a dog can cause some serious health problems in the long term and possibly diarrhea or vomiting in the short term.
