*I wanted to share my RIP Beloved Frost 'T's picture whom I lost on January 29th, 2007 and his miracle journal. He was deaf plus visually impaired and developed 3 heart conditions December 23rd, 2005. He had a miracle journey of 15 months and he taught me SOOOOOOOOO much. http://www.birchhaven.org/frost.htm There are more pictures in his journal.

*edited to say that Frost 'T' was also one of my BHRR Therapy Dogs.

More pictures later. Duty calls! :o I hope everyone has a great day! :)

I'm sorry you lost Frost T. He was a very handsome dog. I understand it's quite common for harlequin breedings to have vision and hearing impaired dogs in their litters. Has there been nothing done over the years to improve this situation?

Cindy,

At his last weigh-in he was 196 pounds. This is down from 206 pounds as he was getting a wee bit...cough....plump! :)

He is a dream as most Giant Breeds are.

A therapy mastiff. :D I always picture therapy dogs as small to medium--never thought about one of the giant breeds in the role. Who woulda thunk it? he he Or should I say he he? He's a huge handsome huggable hunk. :thumbs up He can come to my bedside anytime! :D

Frost is very regal looking in that last pose. I love the long, lean look to him. :D He was gorgeous, Gwen. :candle:

What a lucky little girl you have. All those horsies and doggies. A little girls paradise for sure.

196 lbs and he's lost weight  A svelt 196 lbs  I knew they got close to 200 lbs, my goodness, if a dog that big doesn't want to go for a walk, you're pretty much out of luck trying to move him. I can only imagine having a dog that big walking around my house. With only 1100 square feet of house, a dog that big would take up a fair bit of it.

Cindy,

The Breeding of Harles to Harles has been a topic of much debate / controversy for years and years for many people.

As much as I love the harls, and I think they are the largest of the danes are they not? Then they should probably not be allowed championship status in the show ring.....IMO  Certainly won't end the problem, but should knock it down a bit wouldn't you think?

My goodness you have wonderful dogs. All of you in rescue, Frenchy and everyone else should be commended for the work you do.

Frenchy, you going to adopt that big beautiful EM?

Frenchy,

You know that invitation that was extended to you to come out again on July 14th? UHHHHMMMM, I think we might have to pull it ;) ...LOL Guinness, the EM is owned by us, you are correct.

Then again, IF you could sneak off with him......something I would definitely like to see.............:D

Guinness actually eats less than some of the Great Danes here. His energy and metabolic level is not at the same level and if you have them on a high quality food then they do not require tons of food to achieve nutritional soundness. Less output as well on a high quality food. ;) I also feed all my own dogs plus the Rescues here three homecooked meals a week.

Only if I can get a second job to pay for his food  But I don't think BHRR would let me, I'm pretty sure he's part of their family. or maybe I could steel him on my next visit....I mean , who would notice ?

THANKS everyone for the wonderful compliments on the animals here. I feel truly very blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful and supportive family both two and four legged to be able to live my dreams!

I will post some pictures of my Piranha Puppy Soul Squall here. He is a SN's; deaf plus visually impaired; technically light marked Harle(he has 8 spots on one side and two tiny black marks on the corner of his eyes!); Dyce's brother and is now 14 months of age. :)

A few of his pictures were posted in another thread(big dog overdose or my intro) already.
