Oh Frenchy, I know how you feel, I received an email yesterday about a feral cat giving birth for the second time within a very short time frame.

Why don't people learn and realize they must sterilize their animals?

I shouldn't ask, but what part part of Montreal are these poor kittens in?

I know how you feel. I am about to download pictures of 4 kittens that need fostering in hopes that a picture is worth a thousand words. There has to be a better way. If anyone has ideas I am willing to try running with it.

I keep trying to find a way to have a room just for foster cats... but I would need a spare room , bight and bright, I just don't have one

The thing that gets me mad / sad Chico2 is that I can't help any, the dogs have kennel cough and the cats are either pregnant or already gave birth.

The lady in charge called me back this morning ; the pets are all ok ! They had lots of help from people and none of these pets will have to be put to sleep. :highfive:

That's wonderful news Frenchy.
1. It should be a crime to not have your dog or cat spayed or neutered by 5 months of age for a female and 1 year of age for a male.
2. It should be illegal for pet shops or anyone except a registered breeder (the kennel clubs are going to have to do some changing to make this point worth while), to sell dogs or cats and only registered approved rescue groups may adopt animals out for a fee. (this would weed out the mills who want to portray themselves as a rescue from adopting out for an enormous fee).
3. Kennel clubs need to change confirmation events so that spayed and neuetered dogs can compete equally with intact animals.
4. All federal, provincial, municipal, state governments need to put in place feral capture and spay programs. Some ferals can never be tamed, but capture and spay and neuter them, re-release either where captured if not a danger to themselves or other animals. At least they won't be breeding more litters and adding to an already unbelievable problem. Oral rabies vaccine can be given to them in a food source like they do for wolves and raccoons.

I honestly don't know how you guys in rescue deal with this every day. I'm not a strong enough person I guess to stand it.

I agree with everything you said CLM,but that's not going to happen:sad:
I just read today,Lionel Richie somehow manage to convince politicians to make spay/neuter any animals adopted out by the ASPCA and any other shelter a law in his state(don't know where).
I wish our chicken-government had the guts to do that:pray:
Frenchy it must be a relief to hear those animals are safe..
