Does anyone subscribe to something they find informative, lots of current information, well-rounded. I tried Animal Wellness for awhile but for the price, I just didn't feel I was getting value for money as it's very "thin" on articles.

I'd like something that includes medical and health (conventional and alternative), food news, maybe a bit of training info, new toys and products info, consumer reviews ~ that sort of thing.

I pick up Animal Wellness at the store sometimes, but I've never subscribed..the magazine does seem to have more articles lately, it used to be very thin and now it's bigger.

Whole Dog Journal has (mostly) alternative healthcare, nutrition, product reviews, training articles, etc. I do subscribe to this one.

I also subscribe to DogFancy, DogWorld, and The Bark, but they don't really meet the qualifications you listed. I just love getting magazines in the mail, I subscribe to so many! :)

Yeah, I have a bit of a "habit" too. I'm trying to reduce the number of mags that are "fun" ( decor and architecture magazines) and subscribe only to ones that are "good for me" ;)

What do you think of Whole Dog Journal compared to Animal Wellness ?

If I want easy reading with colorful pictures, then it's Animal Wellness. If I want more in-depth articles, and real product reviews, it's WDJ (they don't accept advertising, so I trust their product reviews a bit more). Overall, I like WDJ better. I've never let my subscription lapse, while I've never actually felt the need to subscribe to AW.

Thanks Sablecollie. I know somebody else on this forum (danged if I can remember who... ) subscribes to WDJ and is an avid fan.

Because I am a CKC member I recieve their magazine "Dogs in Canada". I really like it. Although it is geared towards purebreds, anyone who has a dog can benefit from the articles on health, training, competition, etc. You can subscribe without being a member of the CKC. The thing I like the most about it is that it is a Canadian magazine, so prices and locations are in Canada (if that is important to you). My hubby gets a magazine called "Gun Dog" for gun dog enthusiests, it also has lots of info on training, health, food and such. It is an American magazine.

You must have a pretty big stocking to fit the "Annual" in it :D I find it very informative, and I have also found that most of our puppy buyers located us through that mag, so it shows that many people who are looking for dogs read it, which is good, there is so much info in there especially about puppies!
