June Challenge - Water and Animalsrainbow June 3rd, 2007, 11:13 PM Anybody have ideas for a June challenge? mummummum June 3rd, 2007, 11:20 PM 1/ Wet, muddy dawgs ( can you tell it's still raining here ?) or 2/ Pets and sunsets or 3/ Camoflauged Pets (spelled incorrectly I think ~ what I mean is pets blending into the background, indoors or out) ~michelle~ June 3rd, 2007, 11:22 PM oh oh muddy dogs muddy dogs i can play that one my boys are always muddy! hazelrunpack June 3rd, 2007, 11:28 PM how's this for an idea... A June thumbnail challenge? :thumbs up That way I could actually get into the challenge thread for a change! (just joshin'... probably still couldn't get into it... :o) How about pets celebrating the solstice...you know...virgin sacrifices, wild parties, dancing around poles draped with streamers... All done with decorum and good taste, of course...  rainbow June 3rd, 2007, 11:32 PM Michelle's crew would win the muddy challenge hands down. :D mummummum June 3rd, 2007, 11:36 PM Wellll.... I may just have to make to make the supreme sacrifice and take my brood down to the ravine for a good squish-splosh. Are you going be around for bath time tho' ?????? hazelrunpack June 3rd, 2007, 11:37 PM We've got rain, but not much mud, much to Ms Macie's dismay. The grass is just too freakin' healthy in the big yard this year! Not sure how that happened with 6 dogs tearing around...and digging... However, I might be able to find some mud after we pull the weeds and do the sodding and seeding project in the sideyard (try saying that fast 10 times!) So I'll climb onto the Mud Challenge bandwagon! :thumbs up hazelrunpack June 3rd, 2007, 11:39 PM Wellll.... I may just have to make to make the supreme sacrifice and take my brood down to the ravine for a good squish-splosh. Are you going be around for bath time tho' ?????? That'd be a lot of muddy dog! But actually, bath time sounds fun. :thumbs up If we time it right, we can get the dogs all cleaned and up to Frenchy's for the party in plenty of time! mummummum June 3rd, 2007, 11:40 PM Dairn... I was hoping everyone would think that was a stinker...:yuck: rainbow June 3rd, 2007, 11:41 PM Muddy dogs are always great to see but that really isn't fair to all the cat people as cats don't often get muddy. :D It doesn't matter to me though cuz I don't even have a camera. :o mummummum June 3rd, 2007, 11:46 PM AHA ! No wonder you were rootin' for the muddy dogs pix...  hazelrunpack June 3rd, 2007, 11:46 PM Dairn... I was hoping everyone would think that was a stinker...:yuck: he he he Now you've got to do it... But you're right rainbow--not fair to the cats! Hmmm...guess we're back to the virgin sacrifices! rainbow June 3rd, 2007, 11:54 PM Maybe we should just do a summer challenge to cover June, July and August as they all can fall under the same theme. And, beside things slow down here in the summer as people go on holidays so it would give everyone lots of time. :o ~michelle~ June 4th, 2007, 12:33 AM chico has some muddy cat pics of vinnie i know.. i could make an at home mud puddle of the kitties:D Hunter's_owner June 4th, 2007, 06:47 AM Mud would be out for me, as I try my hardest to keep Hunter out of it and Cassie will not have anything to do with it  But it could be summer fun  Fun in any way our :dog: and :cat: want...swimming, mud, sunsets, lazing in the sun:shrug: hazelrunpack June 4th, 2007, 08:40 AM HO's idea works for me...less messy, too  happycats June 4th, 2007, 09:08 AM What about spring flowers? Pets with, in, or on:evil: flowers!! rainbow June 4th, 2007, 02:36 PM We could do Pets in Flowers for June as everyone's flowers should be up. Then Pets & Summer Fun for July/August as that could cover lots of things and give people lots of time to post since most tend not to spend alot of time on the computer when the weather is nice. mummummum June 4th, 2007, 03:07 PM Ummm... didn't we just do "flora and fauna " or have I completely lost it ? Not that I have anything against flowers of course but, I spend half my time saying "Not in the garden. No, that's Mummy's garden ~ pee pee's are done over there. Not in the garden. No, that's Mummy's garden ~ poo-poo's are done over there. Not in the garden. No that's Mu....Oh the H#ll with it, go where you want....":D rainbow June 4th, 2007, 03:14 PM By the time we decide June is going to be over. Frenchy June 4th, 2007, 07:20 PM HO's idea works for me...less messy, too  I second that. I washed 4 dogs in the same day not long ago , please , give me a break :yell: :D Virgins sacrifice.... not a lot of virgins out there , it's 2007 you know  mummummum June 4th, 2007, 08:46 PM Virgins sacrifice.... not a lot of virgins out there , it's 2007 you know   *Sniff* ...speak for yourself Frenchy. :D Frenchy June 4th, 2007, 08:51 PM  *Sniff* ...speak for yourself Frenchy. :D Yes M3X , right M3X .... ahem , I mean , M3X , like in XXX .... I rest my case. hazelrunpack June 4th, 2007, 08:53 PM :o It's turned into an x-rated thread! We can't do anything with flowers--Cass ran a sneak raid on my peonies today and shredded them...tiny bits of shredded petals everywhere :frustrated: They are no longer allowed anywhere near flowers! :p Rainy June 4th, 2007, 09:03 PM Hmmm we could do.....Table art!Indoor or outdoor............ mummummum June 4th, 2007, 09:05 PM Wowzer... kitty porn :D Rainy June 4th, 2007, 09:09 PM He's way too hairy to show off any manly kitty parts! He's missing the ones he needs too though!:D mummummum June 4th, 2007, 09:10 PM Yes M3X , right M3X .... ahem , I mean , M3X , like in XXX .... I rest my case. Gasp Nads ~ http://bestsmileys.com/surprised/4.gif how can you say such a thing ? I'm as innocent as the day I was cloned. Sorry Rainy... no can do table art. By the time most of us oldsters heaved our mutts up onto a table we'd be in ER with screeching for painkillers for our bent backs. :D But cute kids ya got there ! Frenchy June 4th, 2007, 09:18 PM I can see a broken table thread coming , 2 goldens and a great dane  I will pass on that one ! hazelrunpack June 4th, 2007, 09:20 PM Would you settle for "under the table", Rainy? I think I might be able to get mine under the table...:o...just not all at once... ~michelle~ June 4th, 2007, 10:05 PM wow i leave for one day and ou guys get outta control with your hormonal XXX talk!!!! all you whiners about bathing your dogs I have to do it too!!! just because my crew would win hands down suckas... you scared ???( dont know what im doing the smack talk i just feel in a smack talking mood YO!) papillonmama June 4th, 2007, 10:23 PM If it ever warms up enough we could do a pets and water challenge. For example, ponds, birdbaths, lakes, sprinklers, whatever. Not neccesarily wet, they can be near the water, has to be fair to the kitties. :D Rainy June 4th, 2007, 10:23 PM Under, around, beside, breaking the table! I'm new to these challenge thingies! otter June 4th, 2007, 10:38 PM We could do under the table. But that photos from my Mom's house, we don't actually have a table in our house so the on the table stuff would be tough with Molly, I would try and stuff her onto a TV table, might be interesting:eek: We can do water though, we've got LOTS of water..... (oops, maybe I should have saved those for the actual challenge:shrug: ) mummummum June 5th, 2007, 10:49 AM I vote for the water theme ~ in it, beside it or under it, consuming it ~ could be in the bath, the swimming pool, local watering hole, after a rainstorm, checking out the birdbath, snorkelling in the toilet, in the aquarium, drinking from a bottle ~ anything goes as long as there is water and an animal in the picture! How about it ? http://bestsmileys.com/undersun/2.gif Frenchy June 5th, 2007, 11:05 AM Yep , me too , water , near the water .... So Michelle, it's water , not mud , water , what comes after the mud :D Hunter's_owner June 5th, 2007, 11:06 AM Yep, water sounds good to me :thumbs up marko June 5th, 2007, 11:37 AM Water sounds okay for me too...and this way cat people can play :cat: ..... But Ziglet is happier when I'm NOT bothering him with photography...so it's up to y'all. Once it's decided I can edit the thread title. Thanks all! Marko ~michelle~ June 5th, 2007, 01:31 PM im good with water.... i just may use muddy water!!! :D water is a-ok with me.... give me an excuse to tell chris we need to get the car to go to the beach! breeze June 5th, 2007, 01:37 PM water sounds good to be !! so is it desided water water everywhere???? hazelrunpack June 5th, 2007, 09:18 PM Setters hate water  But I can probably get a pretty good picture of the hose :p hazelrunpack June 5th, 2007, 09:27 PM Oh, wait! I forgot about dear departed Evan...he loved to play with the hose. This was the day we celebrated him getting exercise restrictions lifted after his surgery for elbow dysplasia. I turned on the hose and he chased the splash and the spray all over the patio. 25841 He was always somewhat bemused and disappointed when I'd finally turned off the water. 25840 :rip: mummummum June 5th, 2007, 10:00 PM Water sounds okay for me too...and this way cat people can play :cat: ..... But Ziglet is happier when I'm NOT bothering him with photography...so it's up to y'all. Once it's decided I can edit the thread title. Thanks all! Marko Okay in Rainbow's absence ~ majority rules. So "Water" it is. All species welcome ~ swamped in, dancing around, drinking from ~ clean water, dirty water, toilet water anything goes:D ~ as long as there is water and animals in the same pic ! :thumbs up marko June 6th, 2007, 07:48 AM Ok everyone - so it's official then water and pets it is, threadtitle changed. Oh this is going to be a fun weekend for Ziglet. :cat:  Nice shots HRP! hazelrunpack June 6th, 2007, 07:55 AM Oh this is going to be a fun weekend for Ziglet. :cat:  Poor little kitty...  phoenix June 6th, 2007, 09:11 AM Here are a couple to start... Vick12 June 6th, 2007, 11:35 AM http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/VickyG_album/Gizmo001.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o303/VickyG_album/Gizmo009.jpg wdawson June 6th, 2007, 09:38 PM so is this just a june thread or a summer thread.......still cold water here....and the last few days where cold too....my guys are not fans as it is never mind the cold tossed in aswell  hazelrunpack June 6th, 2007, 10:09 PM Phoenix, that's one heck of a water pik that Maia's using to clean her teeth! And Vick, that is such a pretty cat! :lovestruck: So funny sitting in the sink for a drink! Wayne, get Beathoven and George to post by the water bowl...inside...next to the toasty warmth of the fireplace. :D clm June 6th, 2007, 10:25 PM More pics to come after this weekend I'm sure. Baxter is getting a little too curious about the pond. Cindy hazelrunpack June 6th, 2007, 10:29 PM LOL, clm! Baxter is such a cutey! Nice, pond, too! :thumbs up So should we start a pool (no pun intended) as to when Baxter finds himself slipping in unexpectedly? The person who makes the guess closest to the actual day, hour, and minute gets a few hugs from the little cutey himself? :thumbs up Maybe I should ask first--how deep is the pond?! clm June 6th, 2007, 10:48 PM  Too funny. The pond is over 3 feet deep and I don't think he'd find it too easy to get out of if he went in. Our previous dog only did it once, found he didn't like swimming as his coat weighed him down too much. The hubby had to go in to get him out. We never let the dogs out in the yard unless we're out there with them because of the pond. Have to fence it off in the winter, this breed loves cold and an ice covered pond really attracts them. Had to get our previous dog out after he went through the ice one year, he was fine, but the hubby was pretty cold, we've fenced it off ever since. Cindy hazelrunpack June 6th, 2007, 10:52 PM brrrrrrr!! A shocking way to spend a winter day! rainbow June 7th, 2007, 01:51 AM So, I leave for a day and you guys finally agreed on a theme :D .....good choice, I might add. ;) And, I don't even know why I had a say in this.....I don't even have a camera. Phoenix, great shots of Maia attacking the water. :thumbs up Vick12, I love the pic of your kitty trying to get water from the faucet. :lovestruck: clm, no wonder Baxter loves the pond......it's awesome. :cloud9: marko June 7th, 2007, 10:26 AM Great shots so far everyone! :highfive: Frenchy June 7th, 2007, 11:42 AM Nice pictures eveeryone ! :thumbs up happycats June 7th, 2007, 11:58 AM beautiful pic's everyone!!!:) clm your pond looks awsome!! Baxter should be just fine, as I heard, Keeshond's originate from the netherlands, and were "dock" dogs, always hanging out by the water, so Baxter looks at home in those shots!!:lovestruck: mummummum June 7th, 2007, 07:31 PM Declan stops for a drink, Koi flee in terror 25890 phoenix June 7th, 2007, 07:34 PM oooh very artistic shot! hazelrunpack June 7th, 2007, 07:35 PM Declan stops for a drink, Koi flee in terror 25890 um...MMM...is he licking a fish?! mummummum June 7th, 2007, 07:39 PM Pod-lilly dearest. Frenchy June 7th, 2007, 08:00 PM I put the Cuz in many times , but she never got one paw in it, just like the goldens , I keep empty it and clean it and refill it by hope they will be true to their breed , but no , they think it's a big water bowl. Bailey will get in a lake (Daisy used to too) but not Sam, he wants none of it. dogcatharmony June 7th, 2007, 10:27 PM here's a couple of mine.....Zoe loves the hose and the pool.....not into swimming in a lake though hazelrunpack June 7th, 2007, 10:36 PM Zoe's own personal bubbler! :highfive: rainbow June 8th, 2007, 01:24 AM Frenchy, Nelly is so long that she should be able to just stretch a little further to reach her cuz. :D dogcatharmony, I love the second pic of Zoe. :lovestruck: clm June 8th, 2007, 05:49 AM Too funny....he'll get a surprise if a fish decides to give his tongue a taste  Or the koi could get a surprise and become sushi if he catches it. Mine come right up to the pup to see what he's doing. Cindy Have you ever seen the video of the golden with the Koi ? They really do kiss eachothers. They are best friends ! It's been on tv and there's a link here ; http://www.ultra.ca/spca/Chien_poisson_big.gif but it's only a pic  Frenchy June 8th, 2007, 11:43 AM Is Zoe holding the water gun herself in the first pic ? dogcatharmony June 8th, 2007, 12:33 PM yep.......Zoe holds the water gun all by herself . I just pull the hose out to the middle of the yard, she steps on it and then goes nuts in the water. Here is a couple of her figuring out how it works. Now I can't water anything by myself, she grabs the hose out of my hands. TeriM June 9th, 2007, 02:57 AM Hehe, Zoe with the hose is hilarious :cloud9: . Here's some of mine :D . I told him to fake a smile...but he just wouldn't. He NEEDED the bath though as he's always had a bit of a dandruff issue. He gets about 2 baths per year and this one just happened to coincide with the challenge. (How convenient ;) ) He did get extra cuddles and a new bag of treats and he's back to normal now. :cat: Thx! Marko rainbow June 10th, 2007, 06:35 PM Hee hee....I'm glad Zig has forgiven you. :D There's a thread in the food forum about coconut oil. They don't allow pets, but they do have a kennel for guests there so that is kind of cool. If she was permitted in there, she would have a ball.
