June Challenge - Water and Animals

Anybody have ideas for a June challenge?

1/ Wet, muddy dawgs ( can you tell it's still raining here ?)
or
2/ Pets and sunsets
or
3/ Camoflauged Pets (spelled incorrectly I think ~ what I mean is pets blending into the background, indoors or out)

oh oh muddy dogs muddy dogs i can play that one my boys are always muddy!

how's this for an idea...

A June thumbnail challenge? :thumbs up That way I could actually get into the challenge thread for a change! :laughing:

How about pets celebrating the solstice...you know...virgin sacrifices, wild parties, dancing around poles draped with streamers... All done with decorum and good taste, of course... :angel: :laughing:

We've got rain, but not much mud, much to Ms Macie's dismay. The grass is just too freakin' healthy in the big yard this year! :eek: Not sure how that happened with 6 dogs tearing around...and digging...

However, I might be able to find some mud after we pull the weeds and do the sodding and seeding project in the sideyard (try saying that fast 10 times! :laughing:) So I'll climb onto the Mud Challenge bandwagon! :thumbs up

Muddy dogs are always great to see but that really isn't fair to all the cat people as cats don't often get muddy. :D It doesn't matter to me though cuz I don't even have a camera. :o

Maybe we should just do a summer challenge to cover June, July and August as they all can fall under the same theme. :shrug: And, beside things slow down here in the summer as people go on holidays so it would give everyone lots of time. :o

Mud would be out for me, as I try my hardest to keep Hunter out of it and Cassie will not have anything to do with it :angel:

We could do Pets in Flowers for June as everyone's flowers should be up. Then Pets & Summer Fun for July/August as that could cover lots of things and give people lots of time to post since most tend not to spend alot of time on the computer when the weather is nice. :shrug:

If it ever warms up enough we could do a pets and water challenge. For example, ponds, birdbaths, lakes, sprinklers, whatever. Not neccesarily wet, they can be near the water, has to be fair to the kitties. :D

We could do under the table. But that photos from my Mom's house, we don't actually have a table in our house so the on the table stuff would be tough with Molly, I would try and stuff her onto a TV table, might be interesting:eek:

I vote for the water theme ~ in it, beside it or under it, consuming it ~ could be in the bath, the swimming pool, local watering hole, after a rainstorm, checking out the birdbath, snorkelling in the toilet, in the aquarium, drinking from a bottle ~ anything goes as long as there is water and an animal in the picture!

Oh, wait! I forgot about dear departed Evan...he loved to play with the hose. This was the day we celebrated him getting exercise restrictions lifted after his surgery for elbow dysplasia. I turned on the hose and he chased the splash and the spray all over the patio.

:laughing: Too funny. The pond is over 3 feet deep and I don't think he'd find it too easy to get out of if he went in. Our previous dog only did it once, found he didn't like swimming as his coat weighed him down too much. The hubby had to go in to get him out. We never let the dogs out in the yard unless we're out there with them because of the pond. Have to fence it off in the winter, this breed loves cold and an ice covered pond really attracts them. Had to get our previous dog out after he went through the ice one year, he was fine, but the hubby was pretty cold, we've fenced it off ever since.

I put the Cuz in many times , but she never got one paw in it, just like the goldens , I keep empty it and clean it and refill it by hope they will be true to their breed , but no , they think it's a big water bowl. :shrug: Bailey will get in a lake (Daisy used to too) but not Sam, he wants none of it.

yep.......Zoe holds the water gun all by herself . I just pull the hose out to the middle of the yard, she steps on it and then goes nuts in the water. Here is a couple of her figuring out how it works. Now I can't water anything by myself, she grabs the hose out of my hands.

Marko, Ziglet is definitely not a happy boy. Does he put up with that often or was it just for the photo challenge? I hope he got some good treats afterwards. :D

Zig was NOT happy - it's true. I told him to fake a smile...but he just wouldn't.

He NEEDED the bath though as he's always had a bit of a dandruff issue.
He gets about 2 baths per year and this one just happened to coincide with the challenge. (How convenient ;) )

He did get extra cuddles and a new bag of treats and he's back to normal now. :cat:

Yes, that is my GD Soul(Pirhana Puppy Soul Squall) and that is his brother Dyce(my very first show dog that I waited 15 years for I was very specific about the Reputable/Quality Breeder etc. that I wanted him from etc.). I am owner handling him and he is now only 2 points away from his CAN CH. and yes, I kept him natural! :D OK! TMI! LOL They are now 14 months old.

I would like to post one of my favourite/not so favourite picture of Jasper that involves a lot of water and lots of dirt to make MUD!

I had just spent hours, grooming him as we had just returned from a friends' cottage and he had been full of seeds, some matts, a few burrs etc. I just let him out for a quick bathroom break and while I stood there in horror; he had a great roll! :eek: I just had to take a picture! :laughing:

Unfortunately maybe luckily I have never had a camera in hand when Winnie has fallen into the pond not that it would have done any good because it has always been freezing when he has done so, leaving me running to strip him out of went clothes and running inside to dry he has only done it 3 times so far :rolleyes:

every month or so someone desides on the topic and then starts a thread and then people post the pictures of the topic and we all get to see them and make coments on them usally they are great pictures of all the doggies , kitties and other non human friends :D

Anyway I haven't had any that really enjoy the water since Callie, she also used to end up in the pond but not by accident, so I had to buy her, her own pool



Lucky dog ! She's a beauty, and she looks so much like Nelly, she's a great dane but I always think she may have some greyhound in her. :shrug:

On blistering days on the bald butt prairie, with lakes few and far between and the Pacific still 500 miles to the west . . . . this is what passes for "cooling down," walking down the middle of the river, with Abby, a few miles from our house:

In Alberta at least, the middle of the river is public land and if the creek is low enough, you can walk a long way.

Abby at our favourite waterfall on the Sheep River . . . . finding this place isn't easy . . . . listening for the falls then a right off the trail and then some bushwhacking. It's always an adventure trying to find it.

Don't let it fool ya :D . After I took this picture, and the pool filled to the top, she ran through the garden and into the house (I forgot the door open :o ) and dried her muddy/wet self on the carpet. That is definitely going to get ripped out soon; the carpet cleaning company is just making way too much money off us :frustrated: :D .

Unfortunately no she does not go to Seaworld. They don't allow pets, but they do have a kennel for guests there so that is kind of cool. If she was permitted in there, she would have a ball. She just loves all animals and would probably try to get them to play with her. :laughing:
