I can't say I am excited for you...sorry. I feel that you didn't listen to the advice that was given here. A morkie is a mutt and anyone who breeds them are byb. This is wrong on som many levels that I don't need to get into because it would just be repeating everything said yesterday.

I hope some day you don't regret your "purchase".

May 30th, 2007, 08:13 AM
well im excited
i dont see whats wrong with byb..there just people who breed to different kinds of dogs..on the side
but i did find a cute maltese dog..will they be tiny or just small?

Have you actually seen this puppy?

The reason I say this is because there have been many many cases of fraudulant sales online.

That puppy doesn't look like it was just born.

bosluv001
May 30th, 2007, 08:39 AM
yes i know..it is 8 weeks old
we are picking him up next week

i was going to get a morkie..that was just born yesterday..but then i saw this yorkie..and i couldnt say no..

May 30th, 2007, 08:40 AM
No that isn't a new born pup for sure....unless it's a fast developing kind:laughing:

So did you get a Yorkie or a mix breed? You said at the start of the thread it was a Morkie.

As for not seeing anything wrong with back yard breeders, you need to read the sticky on the breed discussion forum to see why designer breeds and back yard breeders are a bad thing.

Another thing, you said at the beginning that you are getting the pup in 10 weeks

then later you say you are getting the puppy next week:confused:

Should you not meet with the owners, parents of the puppy, and the puppy itself before adopting to ensure it is of good health and has a personality that will fit into your current family?

I have only adopted one purebred but know an extremely reputable boxer breeder and both the person I adopted my cat from and the boxer breeder would not consider allowing an adoption of their pets before a face to face meeting with me and the potential adoptee.

Yeah it is great to see you spent a lot of time researching the "breeder" before agreeing to buy the puppy.;)

yup..already taken care of.. i am going over to see it tonight

papillonmama
May 30th, 2007, 08:55 AM
i see. well congratulations on your yorkie, good to see that you decided to get a purebred, instead of the over-hyped designer breed.

Be very careful, there are lots of reasons people don't like bybers, including the fact that they over-breed their dogs who are not healthy or large enough to breed in the first place. Most bybers are more interestd in profit as opposed to a healthy blood-line.

I feel this way because I have a toy breed dog and toy breeds are being over-bred as it is, and nothing good is coming of it. Just health problems, :(

Good luck with whatever you do, and I hope you work extra hard to educate yourself about back yard breeders and why people are so against it.

I am sorry but that is not it at all.;)

I love the idea of byuing a puppy....but only when the research is done carefully and the profits don't go to people who are byb/puppymills!!!

I've bought all of my dogs, after lot's of research and after finding the right breeder. I've walked into breeders homes and walked back out again because I didn't like them despite having seen some of their dogs at shows. It's how they care for those dogs at the shows and at home that makes a difference too.

All of my 4 kitties are rescues though :D

I think you should settle down and do a lot more research before you buy your pup, but in the end it's your call.

I spent 3 years looking for the right breeder for me. Found her, but am still waiting for the time to be right again at my house.

And yes - most of us look for a lot more in a breeder then what you are getting for your money. The very least we expect is papers from a REPUTABLE registry.

o well..i put a deposit on the dog....now all i need is names..so if you can go to the thread said names? from me..can you please give me a list of names?

Hunter's_owner
May 30th, 2007, 12:32 PM
The fact that they agreed to sell you a pup, but instead sold them to the next person.

When we had our lab picked out, we were on a list in advance, and there was no way that anybody else would get our pup. We were interviewed by the breeder to ensure that the puppy would be going to a good home.

bosluv001
May 30th, 2007, 12:35 PM
if they said application required..that would mean you would have to go for an interview..cuz thats what the guy n the e-mail said

LavenderRott
May 30th, 2007, 12:36 PM
And did you fill out said application? What kind of questions did it ask?

bosluv001
May 30th, 2007, 12:40 PM
..it said..application is required..to make sure the puppy is going in a good home

LavenderRott
May 30th, 2007, 12:42 PM

bosluv001

There isn't anything wrong with wanting a dog. There is just a right way and a wrong way to go about finding a dog. A well bred yorkie can live for more then 15 years. A poorly bred one may not live to see 2.

May 30th, 2007, 12:54 PM

I can't offer names to a person who does not want to listen to our advice, with an open mind and comes onto this site asking for advice, on why her dog is throwing up but not willing to try and change the food to a higher quality, keeps changing her story about what kind and when she is getting her pup, and from where.

It's great that your re thinking the puppy thing!! And as the others said, please research. A poorly bred puppy could involve years of vet bills and sorrow.
