What Type of Collar?

I was just wondering what kind of collar people would recommend for Harley. He's only a little guy.....just under 10lbs and probably won't get much bigger but he can sure pull on the leash. For the most part he walks pretty good but being a puppy he is so easily distracted and if something catches his attention well then all his training goes out the window. I hate having to constantly pull on him, is there a type of collar or harness that can be recommended?
TIA,
Laurie

There are several harnesses out there designed specifically to stop pulling. One is the sporn no-pull/anti-pull harness. I've heard good things about it. Some people like the halti, too. Everyone has a preference.

Nothing will help as much as consistant training though and since he's young, its the best time to learn those leash manners! :)

I would strongly advice you NOT to use a collar, toy breeds have very sensitive tracheas and any pressure could cause a crushed trachea. my dog uses a harness,he's just 6lbs and 2 yrs old and when he pulls I don't worry,

Best to take the time to teach him not to pull at all. That lasts a lifetime!

A nice collar for little ones is found at www.ezleash.com. It is a soft, fleece lined wide collar. The smallest are already attached to leashes when you get them. We like them a lot because they don't hurt the trachea (in case they do pull or lunge) while you are taking the time to teach them good manners.
