Up north pics *lots*

This weekend we travelled 2 hours up north to our cottage to get some serious spring cleaning done-though dogs had alot of fun to.

The last time Duke was up there he was only 3 months old and could hardly make it up the front steps. This time around he had a blast running around in the vast fields and meadows that surroung the area and gave me a chance to see how solid his recall was. Overall I was very impressed and on one two hour hike he was offlesh the whole time and stayed within 50 meters and responded to come, wait and directions as to which fork in the path we were taking completely hands off.

On saturday it was 20 degrees so we took the oppurtuntiy to get Duke used to swimming, at first he only ventured in a few inches but by the end of the day he was confident to go up to his chest but still didnt try swimming. He had alot of fun playing fetch though.

It was probably the first time Duke has spent 12-13 hours completely outside except to sleep and he seemed to enjoy it alot, our cousins had also come down so Duke had fun hanging out with Tyron, their Boxer and Copper their Golden Retriever. nice pics.looks like he had a good time.duke is looking good.so is the boxer.smart looking doggies.atleast he gave the water a go round.maybe next time he will try swimming.

How wonderful that Duke got to be off leash for the entire weekend. He looks like he was having so much fun, so needless to say he will be an avid cottage-goer this summer. Go Duke:thumbs up
