As the weather if often pretty "iffy" in May...how about a Flora and Fauna Challenge?
This could include the simple beauty of pets and flowers or plants (for indoor only cats) to outdoor greenery in all weather - the rainforest look to fun in the sun.:)

If it wasn't so dry this spring, I'd suggest Pets in Mud :o. Now I'd have to suggest Pets Putting out Forest Fires .

The Flora and Fauna idea is just so much more appealing! :highfive: Except my Flora won't be up till June... (Our last frost date is May 31.) Unless pictures from last year count? :fingerscr

ok I understand what flora is (flowers) but what is fauna  please someone explain

Breeze...you're not the only one confused :D
As the early member suggestions for a May theme mentioned mostly flowers and plants,
I believed this covered it nicely - floral, greenery, nature.
Thought Fauna was a term for trees, plants, grasses, mosses, etc.:o  :o .

Looking at some of these great pics.... I began to realize I didnt "quite" have this right......lol...

From Wikipedia:

Fauna is a collective term for animal life of any particular region or time. The corresponding term for plants is flora

Zoologists and paleontologists usually use fauna to refer to a typical collection of animals found in a specific time or place, e.g. the "Sonoran Desert fauna" or the "Burgess shale fauna".

Paleontologists sometimes refer to a sequence of 80 or so faunal stages, which are a series of rocks all containing similar fossils.

So, I feel pretty foolish...but learned something.:)

This is still a good theme, and the pics are wonderful!
Do you feel it should be "widened' in scope? Flora, Fauna and Nature?

aw, thanks so much for the compliments on my Percy.I've so loved admiring all the beautfiul photos in this thread.

As Miranda is the only one of my crew that I havent added to this Flora and Fauna challenge, didnt want to leave her out.:D ,tried a few last night.

She is a very petite and dainty cat,..I call her "my little flower", so took a few of her outside with my Mother's Day flowers.

Here is just just checking them out...

Thanks, Chico and Terri!:)
As the only female, and with a retiring quiet personality, I have to guard her peace and quiet sometimes from the rowdy male cats.. especially the really rambunctious Zack. He's way too much for her.

Chico, yes Winnie is really laid back, although she is 9 years old. Winnie and Nickie are complete opposite

Thanks Frenchy. Yeah I caught her smelling at the right time, lol. I took a LOT of pictures to try to get some where Cassie is actually looking at something:rolleyes:
She is very hard to take pictures of. Hunter on the other hand poses, but in the sunlight, it is hard to see his face:frustrated: Oh well:shrug: :D
