Born on March 22, 1948 in South Kensington in London, England. His mother was a piano teacher. His younger brother is a world-famous cellist.
He was knighted in 1992
He is ranked the 87th richest Briton in the Sunday Times Rich List 2006 with an estimated wealth of £700m. He also owns much of Watership Down, the down made famous by Richard Adams's novel of the same name.
He is an art collector with a passion for Victorian art. An exhibition of works from his collection was presented at the Royal Academy in 2003.
He has been married three times and has five children.

rainbow May 2nd, 2007, 05:59 PM LOL, you guys....It's not Richard Bramson, it's Richard Branson. He not only has Virgin Records but an airline plus many other companies. He even had his own TV reality show where he gave away a million bucks but I can't remember the name of it.
