Lingering winter

It's been hard to shake winter around here.

Yesterday, Abby and Keeper and I were out in the mountains . . . . . below, we're walking through the forest in the Jewel Pass/Barrier Lake area, the remnants of a fresh snowfall still on the ground

It might as well be January at Upper Kananaskis Lake, the snow still several feet deep, with Abby doing some exploring

A hint of spring, pussy willows blooming on one hand but ice and snow framing this goose in the Sibbald Creek area.

A mule deer spots us . . . .

Polly at sunset, in the house, through the stairs . . .

Thanks.

The pictures above were taken with a Nikon D80 using either an 18-70 zoom or a 70-300 zoom.

I also use a Panasonic DMC FZ20 (the new version is the FZ50, a 10 megapixel camera) and, occasionally, an easy to carry pocket camera, the Sony Cybershot.

I don't think you could take a bad shot if you tried.

Thanks . . . .

An interesting thing is that Abby & Keeper's photo blog is about one year old . . . and I'm thinking of converting it to a story called "A Year In The Life Of Abby & Keeper" and starting the blog anew.

At www.goldentales.ca/new.htm, starting from the bottom, just above "more adventures," and then racing to the top, through about 110 entries, the blog goes from Spring 2006 to Spring 2007.

Seriously, Rick, you should really think about publishing that blog in a book. The pics are wonderful. Your pets live in Paradise!
