As promised, here are some pics of our little Helix with his new pelican toy! He seems to be all better now, so hopefully we won't have any more problems!

All tuckered out!

Outside in the backyard:
Here's his crate after I made a few modifications this weekend. I made a cover for over the top (previously it was just a blanket) and I made a small fleece "quilt" like pad for the tray - double lined with canvas and just a bit of padding- that he hopefully won't feel compelled to eat or dig through!

Oh wonderful photo's. I love his new pelican. He sure does too by the looks of things.
This little guy has such an intelligent looking face. Looks like he would be very quick to learn new things, but artful enough to only apply them when necessary.
Please post again real soon.

Very cute. How old is he?
I agree he looks very intelligent. :thumbs up

Thanks! He is 5.5 months right now and weighs just over 10 lbs. We think he'll get a bit bigger- maybe an inch taller (he's 13-14" tall now) and weigh about 14 lbs or so as an adult.

10 lbs? Gomez weighs more than that! and he's a little guy!
Tell me, that green bone with white tips, does he play with it? I got one for Gomez and it is relegated to the botom of the box!

Awww,he is sooo cute:lovestruck:
I think you have the weight wrong though,my Vinnie(cat) weighs 17,4lbs and is probably smaller than your dog.

LOL! To answer some of your questions...
He does chew on the green bone thing because he's teething right now, but usually he just ignores it. He prefers to chew on soft toys like his pelican though (which he's already destroyed part of one of the wings!). He also doesn't chew a lot on things around the house, which is great. He's not a consumer though- his bully sticks will last weeks, and he had a pig ear (from grandpa and grandma) that he never did finish in 2 months.
He is just over 10 lbs! I know it's hard to believe- especially from the pictures (we were just at the vet on Friday and he weighed him in at 4.6 kg). When we got him, he was only 2.2 lbs. He does weigh less than my kitties too- but he's a couple of inches taller than them. He has really long legs for a small dog, and not a very heavy set frame. We expect he won't be much more than 12-14 lbs once he's full grown (it just depends on how much he fills out). Klee Kais generally don't get larger than 20 lbs, and that's the biggest of them (standard size). Helix will only be a miniature in size so closer to 15 lbs. The best recent picture we have for size comparison are the ones with my parent's pug. He is about and inch taller than the pug, but weighs a lot less. Here's an example (I think I posted one of these before):

It's so weird because without a comparison, helix looks like a bigger dog.
He looks like a stuffed animal himself!

I am sorry,I actually thought he was a Husky-pup,I never heard of a Klee Kais,I am going to have to look him up.
One thing for sure,he is awfully cute:lovestruck:
Klee Kais is described as a miniature Alaskan Husky in Google,so,I was half right:dog:

LOL, No problem! Lots of people still mistake him for a husky pup when we're on walks. He's only now being recognized as smaller than a normal husky (we even met someone who knew what a klee kai was!). We'll probably always get that assumption, even when he's older. There are lots of great klee kai info sites including http://akkaoa.org/ and our breeder's website www.wiebelhuskyskleekai.com. Helix's dam was CH PR Princess Fiona and his sire was CH PR Toy Boy of Peyton. His sister, Shania, has been kept by the breeders, hopefully for their breeding program in the future. Helix himself cannot be shown (UKC) because he is a cryptorchid. He has a good pedigree though- not that it really mattered to us, because we were looking for pet quality anyway. There aren't a lot of breeders in North America and only about 1800 klee kais in existence currently.
