Hi all, I need some advice and or help. Because I am the facilitator for the Pittie Co-op I get lots of "situations" over the internet, phone etc. and I dont always know how to help people... the latest dilema is that a vet clinic has called me about two dogs they would like to place, they have both been labelled "pit bulls" but one of them does not appear to be a "pit bull' I know "what ever that means in Ontario" and btw this post is from Ontario... anyhow, we are not a rescue and these dogs are running out of time. We have reffered them to the bullie rescues but the one dog doesnt fit into the bullie rescues mandate as she apppears nt to be a bulllie..
Even though this dog has been labelled a "pit bull' in Ontario, she is legally adoptable, and is in a legitamate "shelter, pound" at the moment... she is on borrowed time, does anyone know of a rescue that we can work with to help this dog???????

you could try Builes in need or maybe an all breed rescue, check petfinder under shelter rescue groups

Thanks Toonces, I have hooked them up with BIN for the "pit bull" but the other dog isnt really in there mandate and they have there hands full with actual "bulllies"
She is not a pit bull, she has been mis-identified. This is not just an opinion its really very obvious... So I dont know how to proceed...

Heres another link that may be helpful in the future, they're pretty good there and they take all breeds, I believe she has had a few pits in the past.
http://www.ontariopetrescue.com/ just incase need be some day. Further North than Wasaga but Iknow they get dogs from down south from time to time.
