That's very sad and I didn't hear of it until now. Jacksonville is about two hours from me. Here's the weird thing, the animal control building in Sanford, Fl (about 25 minutes from me) caught on fire about two months ago and mostly cats were killed in that one too. It just seems weird.

Poor animals. Run to the bridge babies. :rip:

Fire crews had to be pulled from the wreckage.
Firefighters put themselves at great risk trying to open cages of cats and dogs and carry the pets out to safety.
At the scene, Francis said some of the dogs immediately showed their gratitude, licking the faces of firefighters. Bonds were formed right away and adoptions were made on the spot. About six to 10 animals were adopted by local firefighters
