older male dog health

I have a ten year old shepherd/collie cross, fixed male. He is in good health just older. I have two questions.

1. do dogs have prostate glands and as they age can they have problems with this( as in humans)? ie: urinating

2. Should I be looking at specific food for an older dog? Right now he gets dry kibble only.

Yes, dogs can have prostate enlargement, cancer, etc, but this is not commonly seen in neutered males like yours.

If your dog is having trouble urinating, he should see the vet.

He could probably benefit from a GOOD quality senior dog food. Large breed dogs mostly all have some degree of arthritis by 10 yrs old, so he could also use Glucosamine supplements as well!
