Whoo hoo!!! Demo day!

March 31st, 2007, 09:52 AM
I hardly slep a wink last night... Today is the long awaited day we start ripping things down!!!:D
We are tearing down the old kitty shed ( no kitties in it dont worry I already looked) and replacing it with a new chicken/rabbit shed:D Its all ready to be hitched to the truck and pulled down... GONNA BE A BLAST! Im taking pics incase anyone else has the strange fascination of demolition like me!
All our old junk in the field is going too....
Making way for perhaps a cow and maybe just maybe my horse!!
WHoot whooot!
Anyways... I'll be back maybe later tonight with pictures. Depends if the wind dies down and we burn the grass or not...

I love spring time in the country!:D

March 31st, 2007, 09:55 AM
We also cleared a spot last night where the dog pen is going... that way the doglets wont be "tied out" when we're gone anymore ( that and I d feel better)
and a nice patio area for our pool and patio set!
I cant wait I cant wait!

March 31st, 2007, 11:28 AM
Well erykah... phase one completed! The shed is DOWN!
Here's some pics for you...
Shed after a few sessions with the crowbar ( my favorite tool today)
All hitched up!
Ooops... back to the drawing board. Only pulled off one single piece ( can be seen flying through the air lol)

The Ford in its element... doing what it was created to do...WORK.
Down it comes
Tee hee, what i waited all night to see!

March 31st, 2007, 11:30 AM
The chicken coop outdoor pen from 2 years ago.. I guess it was built really good ( good job Guy) cause we anticipated it ripping apart when the shed lifted.

I'll be back with more pics as the day progresses!
Many many dump trips to be used as breaks.:D

March 31st, 2007, 11:39 AM

I like the flying through the air pic. :thumbs up

I am undecided if anyone else is allowed in here... its my deep dark obsession coming out for all to know of...
I am addicted to demolition:D
But if people feel the need to reply and post, it sure helps me not look so crazy!:p

Uh oh, will you have loose chickens????? if so it looks like harley will be staying on leash< LOL

March 31st, 2007, 12:40 PM
No not loose, or Meik would never be able to be outside. :frustrated: He has a chicken fetish of sorts.

But as for the cow...:D Look at what we are prolly getting!:D
Guys parents have approx 30 head of these guys. And they are reducing numbers this year! Might get one or 2.

March 31st, 2007, 12:41 PM
That's a furry cow!

March 31st, 2007, 12:42 PM
I think that will scare the crap out of harley, lol.
He was ok with a horse, so those guys should be ok, but will introduce with leash anyways. Do not need mr accident prone to get kicked.
His luck of course

March 31st, 2007, 12:49 PM
That's a furry cow!

Yeah.. they are Highland cattle. Amazing cows indeed. Info on them if anyone is in the learning mood! lol

March 31st, 2007, 01:13 PM
Ohhhh, demo as in demolition, i was thinking the vaccuum cleaner guy was coming over to give a domonstration, lol. DUh!

That is really cool, I wish I still lived in the country, I remember as a child my dad was always remodeling the house, add a bedroom, take out the coatroom, build the kids a toy shed.

Good luck with it.

March 31st, 2007, 03:34 PM
Well... didnt take near as long as I thought it would, but thats a good thing.
4 trips to the dump later and this is the end result for now... tonight we burn the left overs ( no nails )
Kinda looks crappy now, but once tomorrow rolls around should be better.

Tools for hillbilly country folk deomolition... Crowbars, trucks and chainsaws lol
The empty spot ( the chicken coop stayed alive through the whole ordeal)
And the replacement coop. Will be divided with cages on either side, rabbits and chickens will be free to use either side.

Kewl! I love demolition, too :thumbs up

When we moved here and started doing work, I started taking pics. I have a whole album of demolition, renovation, construction projects. LOL--first I bore guests with 12 albums of dog pictures, then I pull out my construction album to finish off the job. But I like to look at it now and then. :D

So, that cow isn't really a cow, it's like a mini wooly mammoth? :cloud9:

Cool pics. :)

April 1st, 2007, 08:52 AM
I *love* Scottish fuzzy cows!:cloud9: Lucky you, demo, a new place for your chickens and bunnies, AND maybe getting some fuzzy cows! :highfive:

And you're not alone. :o I get psyched every time I think about the demo that will be involved in various projects around here. Like my computer room-all the old plaster and lathe walls are coming down in a couple of months to make way for new drywall. Not much demo maybe, but I can't wait. I think it's a good time to re-do the wiring and put in an overhead light or ceiling fan/light, too. Of and the carpet is coming out of here, too. Heck, why didn't I just say we're gutting the room! Other than the floor. It's old hardwood and has a nice colour-just will need a good cleaning.

The end of my day...
Well since I posted about everything else we did yesterday, why not share the fire too?
Initial lighting.... it was hot!!!

" Look if i've said it once, I have said it a hundred times, just smile and she will put the camera away"

Close up of the fire...

Lazy gurl snoozing by the warmth of the fire, her favorite place.

And a pic of Puppy.

The other 2 were on perimiter patrol the whole time. It was cute. They didnt come by the fire and my camera is an el cheapo so i couldnt snap pics.

That completes demo day!

April 2nd, 2007, 02:15 AM
Yey! I liked those the best. :) :D (especially Kita sleeping and the fire...)

April 2nd, 2007, 02:38 AM
OOhh, cool fire pics and love the one of Kita :lovestruck: . Lucy hates the fire and when we are camping she always demands to go to bed as soon as we light the fire.

April 2nd, 2007, 09:59 AM
So when does the cow come home? Waiting patiently... :p he he he

April 2nd, 2007, 02:10 PM
I just seen this thread now. :o Love the pics (especially Kita sleeping :cloud9: ) and I bet you have a great feeling of accomplishment right now. :D

And, of course, we need to see pics of the "new and improved" lodgings and of the cow(s) them wooly ones :cloud9: and, hopefully the horse :cloud9: and, then more of the rest of the fur family. :lovestruck:
