He wasnt mine, I didnt even know him.
But I went to the vet today and as I was waiting for the blood tests to go through, I was kicked out of the room for an "emergency". In the waiting room, a woman with her Doberman got up and went in, slowly coaxing Buddy as she called him, who wobbled and looked in pain, to follow her. I waited and waited for my vet to come out and talk about the blood test. Then I hear this wailing. Deep, really loud sobs coming from the next room. I knew it was that woman, crying because she was probably saying goodbye or was going to have to soon. I heard her call out his name amungst the sobbing. She came out, paid the bill and left, struggling to breath and tears in her eyes. She left alone, no Buddy at her heels.
I almost cried. I kept thinking I hope someone is waiting for her at home, able to comfort her. I also kept thinking of how much of a wreck I will be when I say goodbye to Louie/Tickey/Kitty.
But anyway, I only saw him for a few seconds, but I could tell Buddy was a good dog. And will be missed.
