March 18, 2007 at 1h00 pm at Park Jarry in Montreal
The Militia for @nimals in Quebec, along with all the victims of apathy and greed confined with no voice and no choice in the puppy mills of our province are inviting you to a Great Gathering.
The Militia for @nimals in Quebec, Nicole Messier it’s founder and our angel Marcell, invite all the concerned citizens, representatives of shelters, of SPCA and SPA, reputable breeders, veterinarians and all those who truly care for the animal security, protection and well-being in joining to become the messengers of the voiceless martyrs dying daily in the puppy mills, barns and/or backyard breeding facilities.
Why must we get together? Because animals suffer while not protected by adequate laws and we must reach Prime Minister Mr. Charest, as well as Mr. Vallières, ministre of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) ministry to let them know we do need the RSQ P-42 to be granted to the Militia for @nimals in Quebec. We get together because we wish to honour all those who were borned and died in hell, completely forgotten, without a name or carress, in fear, in distress, in pain and in indifference in those squalid puppy mills that proliferate with the implicit consent of those who have the power but not the will to protect them. We must be there for them since we MUST not tolerate puppy mills anymore!
This great gathering will be held at Park Jarry
on March 18, 2007 at 1h00 pm
Please be as many to express their distress as they are suffering in the puppy mills!
We will take this opportunity to discuss on the necessity of obtaining the mandate of application of the RSQ P-42 for SPA, SPCA and the Militia for @nimals in Quebec, in order to adequately and promptly intervene in cruelty/neglect/abuse cases.
We must allow the population as well as our federal elected representatives to realize the necessity of having the C-373 voted by the Chamber and the Senate as quickly as possible since for over 100 years nothing was done to better serve the life quality, protection and well-being, as well as the prosecution of offenders, in animal cruelty cases. We need modern, adequate and more efficient laws to protect our domestic animals from abuse.
We have a moral individual and collective obligation to close down the too many puppy mills that operate under the cover, secretly making millions with their cupid and greedy activities while abusing animals without any reserve. Our sad reputation of the puppy mills capital is known all over the world, in United States and Europe as well (Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and many others). The victims of greed, of laxity, of inertia and nonchalence, indifference, conspiration and conflict of interests need to be freed from their abusers both in the mills and in the government and its representatives. Mr. Vallières and anima-quebec have done nothing or so little, even supporting new puppy mills and WE MUST NOT TOLERATE THIS, nor should the animals still suffering in hell holes. Any poster you may want to bring will be useful in expressing any of the above mentioned messages.
With this great gathering, we also wish to emphasize on the necessity of having our pets spayed or neutered so we do not add innocent victims to add their names to the list of more than 400 000 animals euthanized yearly in Quebec. We also want to inform about the loving animals waiting for a loving family and a second chance in shelters all over the province. They are vaccinated, sterilized, socialized and devoted to loving us back. Any sign promoting adopting from a shelter you might want to bring is welcomed. We must tell citizens that adopting from a shelter or a reputable breeder is ensuring they are not accomplices of the puppy mills breeders. They must be careful with buying from a pet store since many of the cute little puppies in the window were born in a puppy mill. Once again, any message promoting this mode of adoption is welcomed. Bring your loyal companion with you if temperature allows!
Together, we can be part of the solution and stop being part of this shameful problem and situation that too many endorse, support or deliberately ignore. The Militia for @nimals in Quebec, and those who believe that it is our duty to ensure security and well-being of our domestic animals strongly, refuse any compromise and we demand that once and for all the puppy mills in Quebec are denounced and closed down.
Please invite your family, friends, co-workers, your veterinarian to join us so we are one loud voice.
Note : Since you will be with your pet companion (should temperature allows), we do recommend, that with courtesy and respect, we all make sure we collect any souvenir our pet might leave behind. In that regards, the Militia for @nimals in Quebec will be able to provide you with free disposal bags to fulfill that need should it occur. Please litter respectfully. Respect has to be deserved, not demanded as you all know. Furthermore, dogs must be on leash at all times (see attached). We recommend that you provide for your pet convenient and warm clothing should the temperature impose such requirement. Any overflow or inadequate behavior will not be tolerated and any regrettable incident of such nature will immediately end our get together. We thank you, should you desire to bring any posters, banners to promote the message we wish to express as far as the protection and security of our animals is concerned. We trust everyone will be courteous as we address our claims to the prime minister. We know we can count on you but it is our moral and legal obligation to advise accordingly.

Massacre without pity: the indescriptible horror of the Chinese fur industry
By publishing these dreadful and deeply disturbing images coming out of China, we want everyone to be aware of what is truly hidden behind the trim of their collar or hood; aware of the living conditions in which these animals are kept, and the way in which they are put to death. This indescribable shame has no place in a world we can call civilized. For this to cease, the public needs to know the truth, so that every responsible and humane person will never wish to wear the product of such great suffering.
Dogfights are not only deliberate murder; they're also part of a dirty business.
Any dog can bite if it's raised for that purpose, but some breeds are known for being more "aggressive" than others.
Any dog can bite if it's raised for that purpose, but some breeds are known for being more "aggressive" than others. The goal is to get to the dog to be aggressive and combative, so that when it gets a negative stimulation it responds by attacking. Aggressiveness is the ability to react with excitation in a potentially dangerous situation.
Dogs are used as alive baits to attract sharks
Several parts of the bodies are used for the fish-hook: the hind paws, the forepaws, nylon yarn sewn in muzzle, in the skull, hook in the pendulous lips.
The Reunion Island counts approximately 150.000 stay dogs left to themselves, victims of regular and particularly cruel maltreatments. The dogs are used as alive baits for the shark fishing by hooking them before throwing them overboard !
They are sometimes still alive when their skin is removed.
Seal hunting season is on in Canada. Baby seals are killed often before they get to 3 months old. They are brutality slaughtere. These aniamls shouldn't be killed whatever the reason. If you want to stop this madness and do something meaningfull sign a petition by clicking here. Without us, these poor creatures will not escape pain, suffering and death.

The consumming of fur concerns all of us!
A picture worth a thousand words!
The massacre of animals for fur, wether it's a coat, a purse or trimming on a hood, leather, suede etc. is useless. There's no need for us to pump our superficial ego even more by encouraging this practice, just to look good.

Important Update! Iams Funds Cruel Researcher From Wright State University
For nearly 10 months in 2002 and early 2003, a PETA investigator went undercover at a Iams contract testing laboratory, where a dark, sordid secret was discovered beneath the dog- and cat-food manufacturer’s wholesome image.
Peta's investigator found dogs who had gone crazy from intense confinement in barren steel cages and cement cells, dogs who had been left on a filthy paint-chipped floor after chunks of muscle had been hacked from their thighs, dogs who had been surgically debarked, and horribly sick dogs and cats who were languishing in their cages, neglected and left to suffer without veterinary care.''

Did you know that pigs are more intelligent than cats and dogs?
Your food has a face
A lot of farm animals are mistreated. They're also fead to grow faster so that the meat industry can boost their revenues faster. On their way to the slaughter, these animals often are already dead, sick, infected, injured and not able to stand up due to small spaces they were confined to, bad treatments they have endured and fast growing of their weight which their legs and heart cannot support. Dead, alive or sick, they go to the slaughter house to finally end up in our plate.

MX3, this rally is to draw attention to the deplorable situations that happen in puppy mills. I find it confusing that your post includes all the other stuff. I realize that they are all atrocious situations as well but this rally is only for trying to stop the puppy mills.
