Just thought to post a couple of food recall links, for those not feeding premium. Seems to cover Eukeneba, and Iams, as well as american food brands sold through KRoger, Safeway, and Walmart

Hey guys, I can't seem to find definitive info on the dog foods involved, but saw on the news tonight that nutromax is one of the brands involved. We have fed our dog nutro max, wet food, chunks and gravy. It has been at least a month since we gave it to her, but this week she started showing signs of urinary problems and vomitting. Her vet did a urinalysis and a culture and she is on baytril (broad spectrum antibiotic). She's not vomitting anymore and the urinalysis showed extremely high white blood cells, culture still pending. I'm thinking too much time has passed for this to be an issue, but I am panicking a little bit because the symptoms are so similar. What do you guys think???

If you still have some of the food keep it and the labels with dates and codes. Contact the FDA or maybe your vet can help with information on what to do.

I hope your dog will be okay. :fingerscr  :goodvibes: Good luck and please keep us updated. :fingerscr

Thanks, I am planning to talk to her vet tomorrow for the culture results anyway so i will find out as much as possible. I really hope this isn't an issue, she has been through so much medically this year (cancer) it would kill me if her food did this to her.

I am so sorry to hear that. :grouphug: Does she still have cancer or were they able to remove the tumour? I really hope she will be okay. :fingerscr  :goodvibes:

The menu foods website is up now and the food we gave her was on the list. I am going in right now to have an abdominal ultrasound. The urine culture was negative for bacteria, but she has crystals and tons of white blood cells so hopefully this will tell us what is wrong. Rainbow, she still does have cancer. We removed the tumor, but her vet was not able to get all of it. It is an oral malignant melanoma and had extended into her bone. So far she has been healthy and the tumor has not returned, but this may be related to that, so I'll let you guys know when I know more. Thanks for your input, and keep your fingers crossed for us. :fingerscr

Shredy, my heart goes out to you. :grouphug: I hope all works out for you and your dog. She has been through so much already. I think you should start a new thread in the Pet Health forum for your updates on her progress. Good luck. :fingerscr  :goodvibes: :fingerscr
