Academi Chien - feedback?

I decided to start another post, as I did not want to hijack the previous one by Harley's Mom.

Has anyone been to AcademiChien to participate in their Puppy School? The vibe I got from the web-site is that it is free for puppys age 2-4 months old. Its more of a socializing experience for the puppy, so they become comfortable around other dogs, people and surrounding.

I'm going to give them a call this evening to ask some more questions, but any feedback would be great!

Just to let you know, my pup will only be coming home beginning of July, but i've already started planning! I'm so excited, can anyone tell???

Hi. Glad to see you're planning in advance :thumbs up . I'm not familiar with L'academie du chien. I can't find their website. I've looked into these places, and although they may be a little out of your way, it could be worthwhile.

You'll have nothing to lose by shopping around (actually visiting and sitting in on classes) and is a great idea before you get your puppy. You'll get a sense of what would suit you best. Actually, it could save you the registration fees if you decide that you're not comfortable with the techniques used (yep, we learned the expensive way :o )

I've been to L'Academichien (www.academichien.com) with both my akitas and quite liked Isabelle, the owner and trainer. Her space is TINY - she works out of her home garage in NDG - but her methods are sound, and she really loves dogs and gets great results. Give her a call and see what she has to offer! :highfive:

Oooh, she sounds good...I like the idea that she refers to herself as an educator and not just a trainer.
