No excuse Rainbow ~ it's just a hop, skip and jump from the airport ~ you could red-eye in and out in one day and let hubby mind the zoo ! :p

I'm going this year. I went the first year ~ it was only so-so but that is to be expected. It looks like it has expanded considerably over the last few years.

Right now I am on a fostering break because I am looking after my mom, she has cancer:sad: but if you look under happy endings we fostered Reilly, Hank, Griffin, Kaiser and Jerry. We really miss fostering and hope someday we can do it again.

OMG I remember Hank! Seeing those pics of him devasted me! The after pic's of Hank were simply amazing!

Do you know Lorne & Sylvia? They just had Bailey and most recently Shona! as fosters?

Hank was truley an inspiration to us all. After his passing the man that adopted him adopted our Reilly. I don't know Lorne & Sylvia but Laureen speaks very highly of them. Shona broke my heart, those pics of her in the shelter were so sad but look at her now!

Anyone who has been... what sort of vendors go?

I could use new andis clippers and a grooming table and was thinking about treking to Ren's in oakville next week..

Should I wait till after this show.. or different type of doggy swag?

mummummum
March 15th, 2007, 06:56 AM
Did you check their website to see if they have posted a list of vendors ?

clm
March 15th, 2007, 08:06 AM
You go all the way to Ren's from Whitby

I don't work far from Rens so I can stop there on my way home. Love the place. The only thing they don't have is frozen fish food for my aquariums, maybe if I keep nagging they'll put some in the freezers.

Ive been the last 2 years. it's fun, got some good deals.

I did try to check. No go on a list of vendors...

Never been to Ren's yet.. but I need new better clippers and a grooming table. Slim pickings on places to go to shop for such things. Cheaper than shipping a table.

Winston
March 15th, 2007, 05:54 PM
Mafiaprincess...maybe this is a silly question but is a grooming table a special type of table? Because Costco has the tables that the legs fold under! They are pretty good..

mafiaprincess
March 15th, 2007, 06:01 PM
fold up table with arm, in a dimension small enough the dog can't prance around much on. I lack a costco card.. never been in one ever actually.

Winston
March 15th, 2007, 07:05 PM
No these dont have an arm but both legs fold up so you you could collapse it? They have a small one about 4x2 or 3?? and a larger one...

mafiaprincess
March 15th, 2007, 08:07 PM
I'm looking for like 30L x 19W x 32"H. Thank you for the offer though. Likely way cheaper than what I'll end up paying, but my next pup I'm going to try my hand at showing, and I'd like as proper a set up as I can try to create.

I went the last two years, it was alot of fun great range of bird, dog and cat clubs as well as alot of various rescues, groomers, dog camps, pet funeral services and alot of other various area's of the industry which came out to promote their services and so on their was even a doggie spaw. They also had a fly ball competition and march of breeds show which was very cute.
As well their were alot of anti-bsl groups out to spread the word and collect donations to help support the legal action against bsl here in Ontario.

Deffiently worth checking out if your in the area.

On a side note, outdoor pets are no longer permitted inside the building just for anyone who has gone in the past and did not hear about the new rule changes.

If you're not driving, the TTC runs all the way to the international centre, you'd have to go to their website to see how to get there from where you are.

I'm in montreal right now but went yesterday with the camera and will post all of my pics/vids when I get back sunday. It was a great show and for anyone still considering it's still on today and tommorow. There was an agility show, fly ball show, fashion show as well as hundreds of different pet supply vendors and food companies handing out TONS of free samples, not to mention everything was at reduced prices. There was also a world of cats show and a parrot section to educate the public on the realities of keeping such pets. As well the ferret aid society was there, rabbit rescue, the pet network and various dog rescue groups including, the german shepherd rescue, boxer rescue and so on. The St.Johns therapy dogs were also there.

In the end I picked up one large merrick smoked beef bone and one turkey stuffed cow hoof for $9 and with it got a free trial size of rollover prepared sausage. I also got Cyrus, my Senegal Parrot some new toys for $5 a piece ( muuuch cheaper then at stores).

Was a great day and have tons of pics and vids that i'll post when I get home.

Wonderful pics. I want one of everything. Ok, with the exception of the shiloh shepherds, 2 of those. If only I had a bigger house. 1200 square feet, 4 cats, soon to have 2 dogs, a cockatiel and fish tanks, I'm out of room.
