I'm not sure the right place to post this since technically these aren't pets, LOL, but they were too cute, so I just had to share! I've been up North at my family's cabin the past five days and just got back late last night. On Sunday, we drove through Father Hennepin State Park as we had been told there were some albino deer amongst the usual herd. We didn't really expect to see them, but there they were! Absolutely beautiful I thought! :)

Eyes look dark rather than pink, so may be a white deer rather than a true albino, that is neat though
eg the seneca white deer http://www.senecawhitedeer.org/ check out the collage page

this is definitly a very good looking deer!! Chico, I wouldn't be able to hunt and kill one, that's for sure, but I gotta admit it's very tasty meat!!

Hmm, good question, OG! We were told they were albino first by the DNR and then by the Park Ranger on duty, so assumed they were correct. But the eyes do look dark, so probably a white deer after all. Oops, sorry about that! Well, whatever they are, they sure were pretty! And they're on protected land, so no hunting allowed there. :)

I wonder how they do in the warmer months avoiding predators, they would really stand out once the snow has melted. Gorgeous deer though.
