I had a hampster years ago and I bawled like a baby when it died. I swore never to have one again cuz their lifespan just was too short for me to go through that again so soon.
My bf's son has a guinea pig that is 4. It is really amazing. Very affectionate and loves to be held.

All of them are fully grown except for little Zoey. She just turned 8 weeks old. I got her when she was 6 weeks old. Her gerbil color is slate. Just a shade lighter than black. The other 2 will be 3 years old in May.
