male cat spraying

We have a lovely stray black cat (Spooky) who seems to want to live with us. The only problem is when in the house he likes to spray on anything and everything. Can't take the odor and don't know how to get rid of it. He also has tapeworm which I can't seem to control. If I were to get him neutered, would he stop wandering the neighbourhood and would this fix the problems???

Neutering is a good idea for a cat that is wandering around the neighbourhood. Just go to your local animal shelter and you will see many offspring of non-neutered cats! It's heartbreaking. And those are the ones that survive.
