Skryker February 16th, 2007, 05:04 PM Fingal unstuffed the dog's giant unicorn as his busy project for today (better that than my couch!), so we came home to this:

So, my husband restuffed the stuffie, and performed surgery on it:

(And it takes a real man to let me post a pic of him sewing up a giant pink unicorn for the dogs to play with, lol! :D )
Fingal waited right there for the stuffie to come back.

But he got kinda sleepy while waiting, and could only muster up a token bite when it was finished!

Nap time!

Prin February 16th, 2007, 05:10 PM hehe, very cute. :) Real man indeed. :cloud9:
BTW, how do you use that fireplace? :o
Skryker February 16th, 2007, 05:15 PM  It's decorative! (Or a clutter-collector, if you prefer.:o ) There's a small hole in the floor boards that makes me think it might have had a gas insert or an electric fire at some point.
Otherwise, it'd be tricky, with no hearth and the hardwood floor right into the fireplace. :D
The chimney is behind the hump there, though. Unfortunately, it's got the furnace pipe in it now, so I don't think we can have a wood burning fireplace there now. Maybe a gas one someday. :fingerscr
Prin February 16th, 2007, 05:18 PM Cool. It just looks like the ones they have in Ireland to burn peat, that's why I asked... :o
Back to the stuffie surgery.:D
I think Fing just didn't want to play with a pink unicorn on the net.:D
Skryker February 16th, 2007, 05:25 PM You know, the old boiler was originally coal-fired, so maybe that was a working fireplace at one time and burned coal? I don't think peat was used much here.
Fingal is giving the unicorn a good shaking now. He seems disappointed that the stuffing isn't coming out anymore.
Dog Dancer February 16th, 2007, 06:12 PM Fingal looks just like a younger Halo does. And Halo will sit and wait while we re-stuff her toys. She'll whine and bark until she gets them back and then tries to rip em up again! Too cute.
Smiley14 February 16th, 2007, 06:31 PM Oh, LOL! That is just too cute! I love how Fingal is sitting so patiently waiting for the surgery to be over. :) Sooo cute!
Frenchy February 16th, 2007, 07:54 PM  I love it ! :thumbs up What a nice hubby you have, to repair the dog's toys :highfive:
Skryker February 16th, 2007, 10:10 PM Fingal looks just like a younger Halo does. And Halo will sit and wait while we re-stuff her toys. She'll whine and bark until she gets them back and then tries to rip em up again! Too cute.
Fingal never let out a peep! He just waited there on the couch for my hubby to finish. He can be such a good boy. :cloud9:
Frenchy, yeah, my guy is a good hubby-and he loves the animals (even if he pretends he doesn't.:p )! People look at him and think "scary looking biker-guy" but he's got a huge soft spot for animals and kids. And he's not a biker-he just refused to cut his hair because his mother always nagged him about it. Same with the beard; she nagged, so he gets all fuzzy in protest. And for winter warmth.
Dracko February 17th, 2007, 01:28 AM Aw, thanks for posting the pictures. Very cute! He just sat there during the surgery waiting.:lovestruck:
TeriM February 17th, 2007, 01:37 AM Great pics  . I think I'm about to officially give up repairing Riley's stuffed toys, he just wreaks them as soon as he gets them back :frustrated: . Lucy never once destroyed any of her toys but he is a major destruction machine with his (and most of her old ones too :o ).
trippincherri February 17th, 2007, 10:37 AM My man also repairs toys for the dogs lol, I hate sewing so he does it.
There are some toys though that are an absolute fave and I hate to throw them out, so they are restuffed and sewn up and given back many times over.
Very cute.
rainbow February 18th, 2007, 06:55 PM Cute pics and what a great hubby you have. :thumbs up I hate sewing and my hubby would never do it so I just replenish my supply from the dollar stuffies at the thrift store. :o
brandynva February 18th, 2007, 07:00 PM Cute pictures! I love how Fingal is patiently waiting his toy back.
glasslass February 18th, 2007, 10:48 PM His stuffy is almost as big as he is. It must have been quite a fight!
