Purina Vet Diets: DM for cats

Last year my cat was diagnosed with diabetes and she was put on the PVD Diebetes Management for cats. She is doing great on it and all the problems she had before cleared up. They recently did another blood test on her and said she is a poster cat for the DM food because she is doing so much better.

On the other hand the general census here is that "anything Purina is junk food".

So I was curious; being that Kitty is diabetic, do I have any other options to maybe feed her higher quality food, but still help the diabetes?

I'd love to hear any personal experiences like this....

Yup..thats pretty crappy. The DM is a high protien, low Carb diet. Im thinking Innova Evo would suit that need just fine.

Hi Sissani

I also think that EVO is a great option, they have done quite a few studies on using EVO for diabetes. It comes "vet recommended" for this issue, and as well they have a "veterinary" advisor on staff, as well blood work results after using the food.
It gets my vote, and anything low carb would too!:thumbs up

I agree that Evo would be a good choice.

You could also try joining a forum for cats with diabetes... I've seen a couple out there.

Good luck! :)
