Some recent shots . . . we've had ice fog and a week of snow here.

Abby's world . . .

The sun came out on Saturday, leaving beautiful scenics, before closing in again yesterday and today. Ice fog had left trees feeling heavy.

Heavy action at the bird feeder:

A woodpecker waits his/her turn . . .

Keeper runs for home at sunset:

A photoshop altered painting of Keeper:

Can't remember if I've posted this before, my favourite horse subjects south of Okotoks, Alberta . . . these two have been in this spot off and on for years.

Gorgeous Rick.

I like the picture titled "Abby's World" very forlorn snapshot.
I especially love the way the snow on the prairie grass looks like giant tufts of icing sugar/whipped cream on top of a cake.
That was the first thing I thought was Abby's sitting on a giant cake made of praire and snow. :D Beautiful.

It's a heavy dose of hoar frost, beating down the tall grass remnants from the summer, covered later by mounds of fresh snow . . . .

Are you shooting with a digital camera? Great closeups too, what mm lens are you using?

Nikon D80. Lenses are an 18-70 mm zoom and a 70-300 zoom.

Thanks!!

Better than a postcard as always ! And I'm soooooo jealous of all that SPACE and no grey slush and salt. I can almost smell the fresh, crisp air from here...:)

Just curious about the horses...are these wild horse and are these the horses that made the news this week. Not these 2 in particular, but the wild horse in the area. Someone is killing them off... I hate some people.

The horses in the picture are in a fenced field and are owned by someone.

The incidents in the news lately is in the Sundre area, about an hour northwest of Calgary . . . sounds like they are closing in on someone.

Having said that, there is some kind of creepy devil-worshiping cult that has been cutting parts out of live horses - a horrible death for them - on the northwest side of Calgary through the last 10 years . . . . intense outrage and scrutiny seems to have pushed them underground lately.
