I remember this story from a while back - I came home and read on msn - and couldnt help feeling sad for this horse and those that loved him.

RIP big Barbaro - no more leg pain at Rainbow Bridge. :cloud9: :rip:

Barbaros injuries were absolutely catastrophic, and I can only imagine that his vet bills were equally catastrophic. Horses are difficult patients, the odds of recovery sometimes aren't very good, more so with injuries such as his. I am surprised that he did as well as he did for so long. I've had to euthanize a horse, and as heart wrenching as it was, knowing that his end was peaceful was comforting. I am glad that Barbaros owners recognized what needed to be done for their beautiful horse. :rip:
