Look who I met today! Before today, I had never met a Neo Mastiff and today I met SEVEN! :highfive: They all might be up for adoption soon, so I thought I'd let their droopy sappy faces work their magic a little...

First pic, my FAVE! Cleo! What a super sap! :lovestruck:

January 28th, 2007, 09:01 PM
yeah i  neo's! there are a couple in the neighborhood... sweet buncha wrinkles! but now i'm intrigued, how can a person have so many without being a BYB? looks like they live outsided tied to massive chains and have a rusted truck for a playpen? they don't look thin or abused or in bad condition... they just look so sad and lonely. or perhaps that's all the wrinkles :o must. spill. the. beans! :D

Prin

They're in really great shape. Well fed. They even had raw bones.;)

There's not much to say yet. A breeder decided to end breeding and is giving up all her doggies to rescue. :)

Prin, those dogs are HUGE!! Just the base of their stance and the widths of their chests. wow! They look cute though and I love how their faces droop so much it pulls their eyelids down. hehe Cuute! So, you adopting one or two?? Maybe this is the opportunity Jiorji has been looking for! :thumbs up

I have to admit, I was really intimidated by the first one, but as I met them all, I got to learn how sweet and lovely they are.:D They're really big mooshies.

Hmm. Yeah, you should probably stick to a dog that won't squish you when it cuddles in your lap. Kind of hard to love on a dog when you can't breathe. You seem like the type who will have your dog all over you and then go to work with cat/dog hair stuck in crazy places. (I'm speaking from experience here...)

January 28th, 2007, 09:25 PM
well i don't doubt they're cuddly and cute, but if i get a companion that's twice my weight, i'd rather it be a human hahaha

i like cat fur on my clothes...it's a fashion statement :D lol bad joke

To the first statement, before Frenchy does it, I have to...

Chika chika bow bow... (I hope I didn't mess it up Frenchy)

To the second, I agree! Doesnt' all that extra fur keep you warmer?? I'm sorry Prin, :offtopic: I will leave now. hehe

My shepherd is dog enough for me. These look so HUGE and strong. Think I'd never be able to control them if they decided to "do their own thing."

Man, what happened to that truck??? To many doggies?

Do you know if they let them off their chains? Seemed in pretty much all the pics they were chained (yes, those major thick chains).

They do seem very healthy, though, and well cared for.

Prin
January 29th, 2007, 12:31 AM
They were chained especially so we could take the pics easier. A few don't get along, so having them all lined up made it less chaotic...:o

But yeah, I think they'll be indoors a lot more once they find their forever homes. :fingerscr

In a word..wow! The Magificent Seven really sums up this awesome looking group doesnt it?:thumbs up

They do look like gentle giants. And those wrinkles and sad looking eyes:cloud9: Makes you want to just hug them. Thats a lotta dog to hug.

How much would an average adult Neo Mastiff weigh Prin? I've never seen this breed before. The size and the powerful look of them amazes me..

Hope these lovely dogs are soon all in their loving forever homes!:fingerscr :goodvibes:

Scott_B
January 29th, 2007, 06:43 AM

OMG they are so beautiful I am so glad that I am not close enough to come visit because I would want them all. These kids are so sweet and gentle just big lap dogs. A Neo was my first Mastiff and I would get another one in a minute. They are beautiful are they mohogany and black or are they blue? My boy was a big blue baby. If anyone is considering one do your homework they are huge drool monsters. They don't shed though but they could drown a small child. I hope you find great homes for them.

mastifflover
January 29th, 2007, 08:31 AM
Hi Scott actually they can get upwards of 200 pounds they are 10% longer than they are tall. My boy was 195 and his pal was 215. They are very big boned and there feet well you don't want them standing on yours, as they tend to do

January 29th, 2007, 08:37 AM
Thats why i said 185+ ;)

Beautiful big teddybears, but I cannot help seeing sadness in their eyes and those chains:eek: but I suppose beeing very big and strong, chains are needed.
The good news, they will not be breeding any more.:thumbs up
I hope they'll be out of the cold soon, but I can imagine adopting them out, will not be easy:sad: it takes a very special Mastiff-person to own these very large wonderful dogs.:fingerscr for all seven of them!

Sorry all, it's year end, month end and inventory all piled in to one this week so not very available. The good news is as follows:

Cleo, Kaos, Pandort and Kronos will all be heading in to rescue this weekend and coming week. Also a DDB will be going as well from another location. So that's 5 this week, not bad..

Now we just have Mona and Seth to work on which I will start to do tonight. By the end of the two weeks I hope to have them all placed in warm cozy places for adoption through other rescues.

Will try to keep things up to date as much as possible.

A dumb question maybe:confused: but would these dogs not be freezing outside??
I know they are large, but just beeing large does not make them warm, they have no fur:sad:
I hope they are now in a warmer place:fingerscr
If I was 36 instead of 63,I would give one of them as many cuddles as he/she needs and more,as long as he/she would like my cats.
