Natures variety

At present I use Canadie as a suppliment when I am away and others have to feed, as opposed to Raw. I have been pondering switching to Natures Variety instesd, but, it is too high in Protien for a Large breed dog.

My Newf boy, Lolly-pup, is a year old now; At what age does this stop applying to him?

My Bernese girl, Belle, is 6 months; Is a bernese considered a Large Breed dog?

Does this even matter if it is not the primary food source?

IMO, you should worry more about the calcium levels of the food. Neither doggy is done developing, so the calcium levels should still be low (ideally lower than or around 1%).

At 1.41% it's a bit high, so it would depend on the calcium amounts in the raw...

if your base diet is balanced (whatever you feed :) ) then i wouldn't worry about any temporary additions you feed, as long as that food is of a good quality of course. dogs have an amazing ability to balance nutrition over time. :thumbs up
