Woo Hoo! New Camera; New Pics!

December 29th, 2006, 07:41 PM
I finally got my Christmas pressie! I got a Canon A630. I've been playing a bit with it, but will need lessons from Prin before too long. :D I'm off to read the manual first though. :thumbs up (does that make me a nerd or a geek?) Anyway, my pics may not be as good as Techno's, but they'll do. ;) Here's a few first shots without knowing what I'm doing.

Roscoe licking his chops. Not sure what he was eating...

Sasha just wants to get as close as she can. I had to hold her away.

My pretty girl Mileva with her perky up ears.

And I TRIED getting Otis with his eyes open. This was the best I could do for now. (he was laying on the vet bill, btw)

You can be a dork like me if you want. :thumbs up

By the way, great pictures. I can't wait to see more.

Dork? Who said anything about a dork? hehe I can be that too. thanks and I can't wait to do more. I may even be able to do some movies if I can figger out how to upload them. So much to learn, so little time.

Hey, I like your quote. Kinda of a :offtopic: but it's my thread so hey! Um, anyway, my daughter asked me about someone being stupid and if what they were doing was illegal, (it wasn't) and I told her that stupidity should be illegal.

:offtopic: I've given up having high expectations of the average person. I know it's bad, but it's so true. There are so many stupid people out there. :frustrated:

Aren't digital cameras awesome!?!?!?!?

I love Mileva! Such pretty ears and eyebrows.

:offtopic: Stupid people should not be allowed to breed.

Thanks Byrd! I wish I could get a picture of her with her "happy ears" on. She always looks so serious when I take her picture. hehe

Here is a movie. It's a little grainy and excuse the mess. lol I'm still trying to figure things out... (

Cool! Your camera has sound, my camera doesn't have sound! My camera is oooooold though.

I just noticd your sig - three dogs all under 2-years-old!!! How do you do it! I can barely handle one 2-year-old.

December 29th, 2006, 08:49 PM
Yes, sound was one of the selling points for me. Having kids I wanted something with that option.

As far as the dogs go -- We just got Sasha at 2, so someone else had the fun of her puppyhood. As for the other two, we were just plumb crazy! We got Mileva first and she was soo easy. Plus she was more my husband's dog. He did most of the midnight walks, cleaning up after etc... Then we saw an ad for Roscoe and I said, oh, that was easy, let's do it again! ha! After Roscoe we said no more puppies. :D He was more dense and not quite as easy to train. He's GREAT now. They all get along wonderfully. We have a nice yard for them to run in, which helps. So, uh, after that book, I hope it answers your question. :thumbs up

That's so fun! I love seeing the animals in action. It gives them a sort of third dimension.:)

You need google video though. It uploads the videos less choppy...:o  (JMO)

Great pics! Can't wait to see what you do when you master it.:)

he he! we've all got the bug, the digicam photo bug! wooo! more furry love to share, it,s perfect! and your kids are all gorgeous, can't wait to see more! :thumbs up

I shall try Google video. Didn't that used to be Youtube? I'm so new to all of this. I would like to get some video of them going nuts over the neighbors huge black lab. Fun times! :D

I can't wait till I master it either.

Google bought youtube, but google video is better than both youtube and photobucket, IMO, for quality. It takes a couple days to get your video approved if you upload it with the software, but if you upload it using their online form, it's approved right away.:) (I just learned that recently).

And once you register and all that, the form is here (there's a link to it):

Thanks TD! I can't wait until it SNOWS! I even have a SNOW setting. :D But alas, it's upper 50's(f) here all week and no snow in sight. At least it's January and that can change lickety split. I love being able to share my animals and looking at everyone elses. My kids have the animal bug too and they love getting on here to look at pictures.

Cute pics. I really like the pic of Mileva :) .

December 30th, 2006, 08:28 PM
Thanks! She's my baby girl. I try not to have favorites, but Mileva is my favorite. I think cuz she was our first puppy. She's just special. It's funny cuz all the pictures are the same of her. She's so alert all the time. She lets her hair down, but as soon as someone pulls out the camera up goes the ears! lol I haven't had time to play with it today, but I'll post more tomorrow.

Mileva can be your fav.. That way I don't feel so guilty when Roscoe is mine.;)
