Thank you for the comments! I really enjoy aquarium photography. Also any pet or animal photography as well.


I took the shots with a Nikon D70s SLR, and an external flash(SB600) over the top of the tank. I use the Nikkor 60mm macro lens, so I can get in close.

The hardest thing about aquarium photography I find, is the camera flash bouncing off of the glass and messing up the shot, also it doesn't look natural having a fish lit up from the side, we don't see them that way in an aquarium. But, you need a flash to Freeze the fish, otherwise it will look blurry even with the best cameras.

I have been browsing all the great shots here. I will have to post a few of my old doggy, he is 13. :)
