Willow's New Clothes

Byrd
December 9th, 2006, 09:40 PM
When we first got Willow I wanted girly clothes for her, my ex wanted black, so we compromised with a burgundy leash and collar and a black harness (I use the harness for her seatbelt). She has had her dark coloured clothes for two years now and gets called 'he' all the time. So, I decided that for Christmas I would get her some girly clothes (I can get my way now that it is just the two of us). Besides, I found an amazing colour!!! It really suits her and is one of my favourite colours.

She got her Christmas presents early.

Would you believe that I found them at Pet Valu. I had to order the leash and harness because they didn't have her size and it took a few weeks to get them in. I wasn't planning to do it, but fell in love with the colour... well, I love purple in all its shades so it wasn't hard to fall for it.

She is going to see Santa tomorrow, so I thought she should look pretty in her new duds.

LOL She looks proud because mommy kept telling her how beautiful she looked.

Everywhere I go I get "Oh, what a beautiful Border Collie, I've never seen one that colour, what happened to his tail?" I was seriously gonna get a T-shirt made for her saying "There are three things you need to know about me, 1) I'm an Australian Shepherd, 2) I'm a GIRL 3) My tail is supposed to be this way!!!"

So now I'm curious. Let's see a shot of her tail :D .

What? She's an Aussie... with a relatively long tail, four vertebrae!

Here's a good tail pic, in the old clothes, with a giant stick that she managed to pick up and carry! My talented girl! :highfive:

Looks like her tail matches her just beautifully and her new clothes are definately much prettier :D .

LOL I love her tail, it wags wonderfully, and doesn't knock things off the coffee table or give me bruises on my legs.

Only if he has more than four vertebrae in his tail. ;)

No, no, no, it's supposed to be less than four vertebrae, it's only supposed to be one, so an Aussie human would be withing breed standard. :p

Petopia party? No, we're seeing Santa at PetSmart.

Willow's looking great, as usual! :thumbs up

Is that an anti-pull harness, Byrd? I'm sorta looking for a new solution since Bronny chewed through her Halti. Durable, my behind! She got the under-chin into her mouth and chomp, chomp-right through in about 3 chomps. :frustrated:

Byrd

No, it's a regular harness. I have a seatbelt attachment for her in my car and the harness is for that, and flyball.

I used an anti-pull harness until she was about six months old, I think I got it at Canadian Tire. Willow damaged her Halti too, I sewed it.

Thanks, Byrd. Unfortunately, the Halti was chewed right in half and kinda tattered. :o My sewing skills are nowhere near up to that. She hates the Halti so much and still tries to scrape it off every single time, so I think it's time to move on. :offtopic: Sorry for the thread-jack. :)

I have the same problem with the halti, I'm constantly saying 'leave it' while on walks. Usually I take her t the park so she is off leash, the halti only gets used once in a while, so it's hard for her to get used to it.
