Introducing dogs

Hello all,

I have two rescue russels which I am taking to visit the family for christmas. My aunt has a brand new puppy who will only have been with then for a few weeks by christmas.

I have not seen my guys with a puppy before and I am looking for advice for the best way to introduce everyone to eliminate any agression if possible. My dogs have only shown agression with strange dogs while on walks and then only when dogs lunge at them (even in a playful way). My male is a is protective of my female and myself, which I think is where the agression comes from.

ANy suggestions? Introducing them seperately? together?

THanks in advance!

Generally a first meeting in a local park or other neutral spot is recommended. A walk together is also a good way to introduce them.

I would try to avoid introducing them in a really hectic environment and also make sure that they aren't left unsupervised together. You need to be real careful that they don't scare the pup because the ages of 8-10/12 weeks are major fear imprinting stages.
