My name is Christina and have a 3 and 1/2 year old daughter. We're hoping to adopt a Whippet/ Lab mix (puppy or young adult to grow with our family)before my husband comes home. There was one at our local Humane Society but she just got adopted. She was a real beauty. My husband wants to get a Husky but through my research on the Internet I found out that they are not too kid friendly. This seems like a really great site!

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with the dog search. Puppies are very high energy, need a lot of time and hard work so make sure you are very sure you are willing to work hard to make it an integrated part of your family.
You might also want to consider contacting a local lab rescue organization as they often have lab crosses for adoption and often can tell you if the dog is good with kids etc.

Welcome sweetie2006, :highfive: to you for researching first. Not to burst a wonderful idea about adopting from your HS (as I think this is wonderful) but when you have little ones at home you have ALOT more to consider. Like TeriM I would look at rescue groups in your area that house their animals in foster homes as instead of a cage enviroment. The foster parent can give you a better idea of temperment in a home setting. This is just (MHO) and others might not agree but coming from one that has little ones at home you want this adoption to be a positive one for everyone that is forever. Wishing you tons of luck keep us posted on the :dog: hunt.

I will be taking our pup to obedience school and we'll have plenty of time to take care of a pup. I found a beautiful puppy through a link on this website. I've already made a call so I'm anticipating a call back tomorrow. She is about 6 months old and with a foster family. So hopefully everything works out and we'll be able to adopt her, YEAH! :thumbs up

Welcome to the forum. Glad that you have found a puppy here.....which one is it? And, as a sidenote, I have a husky (my third) and they all have been good with kids.
