Although you've seen my babies in mafia's NY thread ;) I'll introduce them anyway. Riley is a 2yr old male ESS, Jasmine is a 10 month old female ESS.

November 22nd, 2006, 01:19 AM
They are beautiful dogs....
There was just a show on "breed all about it" tonight about springer spaniels.
They said that they could be unpredictable ( more of a fancy word for it though) if badly bred, is this true??? I found that episode really didnt shed a good light on the breed.

But your doggies are gorgious regardless!;)

Very nice pics. I lvoe the 3rd one also. Would look very nice framed;)

November 22nd, 2006, 08:08 AM
Yes I have framed it. It's one of my faves of them so far.
Thank you for the compliments!

Erykah ~ I've seen that show about the springers too. I didn't really like most of what they had to say about the breed. I remember them saying they aren't good protectors or guardians. COMPLETELY untrue. Riley has protected me numerous times....
I'm sure they were referring to the "springer rage", which I don't believe in. Any dog can turn vicious. If springers are not properly exercised daily, I can see them going insane or getting extremely frustrated. They are not a breed for everyone, they NEED off leash walks everyday. Or hunting/agility/something of the sort. People that have had aggression issues with their springers don't exercise them.
And I was reading in a magazine about the ESS there is a very 'famous' show kennel that knowingly produces dogs with aggression issues. Their dogs are all champions so that makes it "ok" in their book. So who knows.
