US Thanksgiving: Whatcha Thankful For?

I won't be home on our Thanksgiving holiday--I'll be dining with my former sister-in-law, my niece & her husband (& 6 month old baby, girl Sasha,) & my nephew.

I wanted to wish my countrymen & women a Happy Thanksgiving (friends in other countries, too.) All my relatives are home and safe this holiday (my other nephew just came off active duty (Army) in Europe. (Pray for Peace.:candle: )

Here's my list:

I'm thankful that for the third year in a row I'm going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving. The good thing is no massive amounts of Turkey Leftovers in my 'fridge on Friday. The bad thing is no massive amounts of Turkey Leftovers in my 'fridge on Friday

I'm thankful that nobody I know has gotten evil-ill or died this year. (including me, I was recovering from cancer surgery 2 years ago.)

I'm really thankful for my Standard Poodle puppy, turning into a dog, who is happy, healthy, and brings me daily amusement, comfort, and joy.

I'm thankful for Thanksgiving, one of the last holidays that's still mainly about family and not an occasion for overwhelming commercialism.

I'm not American, but today I'm still really thankful for the rescues who work their hineys off, not only to give animals a second/third/eighth chance, but who also strive to make this place a little more bearable for them all for the future. :grouphug:

Hello, I am in North Carolina, USA. Looking forward to a few days off during the Holidays.

So, I am thankful for 2 extra days off besides the weekend :)

I am thankful for my wonderful family.

I am thankful that I was able to pay off my house this week :)

I am thankful for all the wonderful folks on here who rescue animals. I have a bunch I take care of - and feel their love everyday.

There are so many things I am thankful for, it is hard to put them all into words.

Happy Holidays.

I am thankful for my family. I have both of my children home for Thanksgiving, my daughter had a safe drive down from Boston. My husband got up early and put the turkey in the oven.

I'm thankful for a wonderful church and wonderful friends. They bless my life in incredible ways.

I'm thankful for everyone here at pets.ca. I'm happy that Angie's Man is cancer free and that Heidi is happy and healthy, off meth, and making us all jealous with her new life, and new baby kitty in paradise. (only kidding about the jeaolous--I'm really thrilled for you !!)

I'm grateful that you have all been so gracious and so willing to share. I'm better off because of these boards and Cooper is wayyyyy better off.

And I'm especially grateful because it's not just a great place to learn--but it's just such rootin' tootin' fun !!! (Had to find a reason to use the dorky party hat guy !)

I'm thankful I discovered a neat trick to eliminate those little dog defensive growls whenever my brother's Akita walks by too close. I left Den-Den's and Corky's leashes attached to their collars all day. Didn't hold them, just let the leashes drag loose behind them. I couldn't believe how well-mannered and good they both were. No growls, not one all day!

I'm also thankful not to lose any more relatives this last year.

I'm thankful for my husband's recovery after successful knee replacement surgery.

I'm thankful my new position is finally permanent after being interim for a full year.

I must say a belated Happy TDay to my American friends on the Board. And I wish I was at my mom's in Fla for her wonderful T Day dinner - and I laughed because their weather was not much better than ours this week, lol (MOST unusual).

I am going to be selfish and say I am thankful for being alive!! It has been a tough year for me in that regard but my chemo protocol is working so keep your fingers crossed and I would appreciate any prayers or vibes anyone has.

I am thankful for the lives of children and adolescents our group has saved and for the sheer joy of getting to know so many wonderful people.

I am thankful for my furbabies who are healthy and enrich and show me the wondetr of life daily!

I am thankful for my family and for my youngest niece who will be one year old next month. I have heard her cry all of once in her young life. She is such a beautiful and happy little girl. I am thankful for my work which allowed me to buy my older niece a piano so I can teach her to play and give her music lessons for Christmas - along with all her Barbie stuff she wants, lol (She is a girlie girl)

I am thankful my nephew graduated from univ and has a great job and I hope - in spite of his fondness for spending - he saves enuf to open a resort some day. (His dream).

I could go on but those are the most important!!

Happy (belated) T Day everyone!
