What a great forum, I'm so glad I found you guys!
I'm a new mom to Tommy, my 11 week old Jack Russell Terrier. I've had him for 3 weeks now, and boy - what a challenge! He's a bright, beautiful boy with a huge attitude! I'd love to hear from other owners of this incredible breed, and any advice you might have would be appreciated too!

I am not an owner of a JRT, but I wanted to say Welcome. I am sure you will find lots of helpful information here.
Your puppy looks very cute. :cloud9:
Would love to see more pics;)

Thanks for the welcome!
I have to admit, the JRT wasn't my idea - my husband grew up with them, and loves them so much I didn't have the heart to deny him his favourite dog. My kind would have been more of a couch potato type dog! But now that we have Tommy, I wouldn't have it any other way. He's exactly what they say JRT's are - bright, energetic, and absolutely crazy! He's been here for 3 weeks and he's paper/outdoor potty trained, we haven't had an accident in the house since the first week... he knows sit, down, up, come (although you can't keep his attention long enough to make him do any of them if he doesn't want to!)... and he's taken complete control of the couch even though he's still too little to jump up himself.
I was VERY apprehensive about getting a JRT, and he has way more energy than I do! My husband works overseas so for 6 weeks this little bundle of energy is all mine. Good thing we start puppy kindergarten this weekend! At 3.5 pounds, he's pretty easy to tire out right now - and hopefully the classes will help me get and keep his attention when he gets a bit bigger!
Here's my new little boy at 11 weeks:
