Male Pomeranian 4 Years Old

I have a 9lb pomeranian that has begun to act strange. He use to be full of life. Now he no longer barks or runs around. He is having a problem with one hind leg and continues to walk around the perimeter of the room for hours or until he's so tired he stops where he is and sleeps. I took him to the vet and she said that he may have a nerve or spinal column problem. She prescribed steroids and that seemed to help but never cured it.
I don't always know if he can see me or hear me when he's in this state. He does eat, drink and go to the bathroom fine.
Any suggestions?

I think you need to see a specialist or at least go back to your vet for a follow up.
