can a dog in heat get pregnant by multiple sires at the same time? example.. a maltese in season mate with a maltese male, and get pg. and the next day mate with a yorkie and also conceive and end up having a mixture of pups? does multiple hook ups, even with just one male mean more pups? a breeder told me this and it sounds a little weird.

This really isnt the site to ask for info about breeding. Mostly everyone here is an advocate for rescue.

Just to add to what greaterdane has posted...
We are also advocates for spaying and neutering our pets so that such things cannot happen:thumbs up

But to answer your question yes they can have multi sires to one litter. This is a non breeding site,

It doesnt mean "more" pups, but just will result in a wide variety of breeds of pups ( depending on how many times the poor gurl was mated:sad: )
If you think this has happened I would get her spayed and have the pups aborted. There are enough wonderful mixed breed as well as purebred dogs and puppies who are without loving homes right now.
