ok some "just because" photos!!! teehee
"i love my cooookie, and my cooookie loves meeeeee!"
maika takes forever, she eats like a dainty wittle goil
the beanies on the new carpet... which is exactly like the old one but without the stink and years of ground-in dirt! LOL dakotah is yawning, not roaring.
Imma sexy macho macho man... i love my baths!
daddy loves me because he lets me wash his spoon!
there shall be no licking of bowls without miss hoover present too:
proof that dakotah doesn't own any toys in the house "mom she stole it from me again, waaaaa"
the pathetic-looking bean... "no, you already had 4 walks today, mommy's tired now! go to bed!"
November 19th, 2006, 11:27 PM

Beautiful dogs once again TD.
I know you had posted some pics of Dakotah as a pup, but I dont recall any of Maika... Has there been any?
I love her coloring and Dakotahs size, two very very gorgeous Akitas (aka Beanies) you have there.
November 20th, 2006, 01:44 AM
Awww, great pics. Those dogs are total hams!
November 20th, 2006, 01:55 AM
What regal dogs you have...my they are beautiful!!
It's funny how big dogs can eat so gentley...my St. has to bite everything down to tiny morsals...personally I think he does it to enhance his drool..haha
November 20th, 2006, 06:51 AM
Dakotah looks so fluffy, just like a :cloud9: . I want to give both beanies big hugs and cuddles!
November 20th, 2006, 06:53 AM
Yay Beanie Pics!!!:cloud9:
Beanie pics are always okay TD;) :highfive:
I love the look Dakotah has when Maika has the toy. Hunter gets the same look when Cassie steals his toy:rolleyes: Funny how the males let the females take over:D (Gee we must be bad parents not giving our boys enough toys to play with:rolleyes: )
November 20th, 2006, 06:56 AM
They both look so very huggable and soft, beautiful:love: Never too many pics:thumbs up

November 20th, 2006, 12:34 PM

Love the beanies, as usual!!!! They are soooo kissable!!! :cloud9: (smoooooch smoooooch smooooooooooooooooooooch)
November 20th, 2006, 01:39 PM
TD, the beanies are gorgeous as always. Such hams. My Shadow (The Akita X) has no toys either - poor girl. And when she eats, if she eats, she has to inspect everything. Everyone was surprised and laughing yesterday when we had people over for lunch and someone offered her some fresh ham. She had to soooo slowly take it on the tip of her teeth, then drop it down on the floor and inspect it before she could pick it up and eat it. It was just a small piece too! Halo meanwhile was wishing for her to walk away from it....
November 20th, 2006, 02:55 PM
Very pretty as always! I think I'm sending my girl over for a bath. Your babies look sparkling :) And I love the white collar.
November 20th, 2006, 02:58 PM
Cookie on the nose ... isn't that a form of abuse
I've been trying to get Lucy to do that for two year but with no success.
Great pics. Keep 'em coming.

OMG you just described my two to a "T"! :D that's an akita quirk all right... always think you're trying to poison them :yuck: he he he!
November 20th, 2006, 03:12 PM
omg Jemma does that too. So funny. (I do get a little insulted that she doesn't trust me after all this time... :o)
November 20th, 2006, 06:37 PM
AHHHHH,the beanies ! :cloud9: Sam has the same markings under his nose as Dakotah, little pink dots !
November 20th, 2006, 08:19 PM

My cousin's husky/samoyed cross was a very delicate eater, too. He gingerly took food from you-you'd swear he didn't have any teeth.
He usually took everything under the table to fully inspect it, too. If he wanted to save it for later, he took it outside and buried it. :D He bugged me for a cookie once (which was a key lime temptation cookie, which I knew he wouldn't like) and wouldn't take no for an answer, so I gave him one. He walked into the kitchen so I assumed that he was going under the table. Nope-I heard my family all laughing, so I asked what was so funny; Brutus walked straight over to the garbage and dropped the cookie in. I TOLD him he wouldn't like them!
November 20th, 2006, 09:55 PM
so those fussy northern breeds eh? :D
November 21st, 2006, 12:57 AM

Dakotah looks so pathetic in the last pic.....I love it
he he he - what an actor eh? :D
if anybody around montreal wants to meet the beanies, just PM me and we can perhaps meet up some day! people either don't know akitas, or have only heard about them but not met any, or have met or heard about "bad" ones, etc... one big sloppy dakotah kiss will fix all that, ha ha! :p
November 21st, 2006, 09:00 AM
Sounds like a good enough reason for me to visit Montreal, lol.
I have met one akita before, he was beautiful, he received best in show at one of the dog shows here in Newfoundland. (Actually he looked a lot like Dakotah;) )
But I would absolutely love to meet yours, they have renewed my interest in the breed, thats for sure!
There are some conferences coming up at work, maybe one of them will take place in Montreal...I will have to keep my eyes and ears open.
November 21st, 2006, 09:03 AM
only just seen your pics they are stunning, :cloud9:
November 21st, 2006, 09:04 AM
HO, if ever you're in town you MUST let me know! :) and the only "real" akita breeder in Newfoundland is Beardusk akitas, the owner Ed is a really nice guy and we met him and a few of his dogs here two years ago at a show, maybe it's one of his keeters that you met... although he breeds darker ones, no split masks like dakotah's. Good akitas are awesome, and bad ones spoil it for everyone... just like for all the breeds eh?
November 21st, 2006, 09:11 AM
Yes you are right, the one I met was darker than Dakotah, but looked more like Dakotah than Maika.
And yeah, it was one of Ed's dogs. I figured you would have known about him and his dogs. I don't know him at all, just met his dog at a show. I had to meet the dog because like I said, I really do love akitas.:cloud9:
November 21st, 2006, 01:23 PM
T-D,I was one of those, who had precieved notions about certain dogs, mostly from the media.
I always thought Akitas were beautiful, but I also thought they were very agressive:confused:
But you live and learn, this Forum has taught me tons about dogs:thumbs up
