Hi,
My dog was sleeping on the couch and when he got up there was a puddle on the couch. This has never happened before and I'm not sure why this happened....any advice?
Thanks

How old is your dog?

In old dogs this can be due to weakening of the muscles in the lower spine, or weakening of bladder control.
In young male dogs it's sometimes a hormonal imbalance, even if they are neutered. I had a young male Rottie who did this; the vet put him on a 2 week course of estrogen (!) and he never had the problem again.
In dogs of any age it's an indication of bladder/urinary tract infections. The vet can look at a urine sample & quickly determine if this is the case.
Any of these warrants a trip to your vet. If possible, catch a urine sample to take in with you; otherwise your vet will have to catheretize your dog which isn't very pleasant for them!
