NAPANEE — A man convicted of trying to throw his dog into traffic on Highway 401 has been sentenced to 20 days in jail.
John Horsfield, 53, who lives near Madoc, pleaded guilty to a charge of cruelty to animals.
Horsfield was charged by provincial police in early October after a man was seen standing along the highway swinging a dog by its nose and tail.
The animal was not seriously injured.
