Happy Birthday, Bronwyn and Fingal!!!

I can't believe they are already a year old. Woo hoo! They'll still be puppies for awhile yet, but they're growing up. :cloud9:

So far, they've had some nice beef marrow bones, a new type of cookie and some fancy pheasant and potato canned food. (No toys yet, but they got some new ones last week, and new collars and leashes about 3 weeks ago.) And lots and lots of cuddles from the family. I'm looking for something truly spectacular for prezzies for them.

Oh, and they got a new nail clipper, too, since the old one wasn't sturdy enough anymore-but I doubt they will think that that's much of a gift.

I have a question for Technodoll-you've mentioned growth plates before-what and where are they, and how would I tell if they are still open or closed?:o I'm trying to figure out if my babies are still growing or not.

The growth plates are the bumps on the front legs (knees). When they flatten out the dog has stopped growing in height.

Thanks, guys! Unfortunately, too many rich birthday foods have caused some issues. Slightly upset systems, should clear up soon.

I tried to get some pics of them standing, so you can see their wrists.

Bronny is the dog in front here.

And then Fingal:

This video is too dark, but you can hear what it sounds like when they get to teethy wrestling.

Sounds like they're killing each other, doesn't it? :D

Hmm.. I'm no expert with doggy growth... but I'd say a bit more growth but not substantial...

Yeah, I figure they're just gonna fill out from here on in...Bronny is so slender! She's just starting to develop some shoulder and chest bulk now. Her neck looks incredibly long, especially when she streches out for something.

i'm just trying to catch up on all the posts

happy birthday beautiful kids!

sorry to hear about the tummy booos... hopefully nothing serious and it will clear up soon

I have a question for Technodoll-you've mentioned growth plates before-what and where are they, and how would I tell if they are still open or closed? I'm trying to figure out if my babies are still growing or not.

from what i can see, the growth plates (front wrists) appear pretty flat against the leg bone, so i wouldn't expect much more growth in height, maybe a half inch or so the next 6 months (but you can never tell with mixed breeds). also, when a puppy has "grown into its feet", it's pretty much done inching upwards :D
