A dear woman near my place in Hemmingford has her own personal rescue. She takes in strays, get them spayed/neutered/vaccinated (when she can) and tries to find them good homes. A momma cat had her litter in the woman's shed. The momma and the rest of the litter died 4 days later. This little one remained, got nurse to a healthy cat. She is now 18 months old , spayed and vaccinated. Loves dogs but is a bit scared of cats ! Needs someone who will be home most of the time or dog/dogs to keep her company. She greets people at the door just like a dog (she actually thinks she's a dog) This beautiful cat is in Hemmingford. pm me for more details.

She's adorable, and seems so tiny for 18 months. Wish I could take her in, but I already have one cat that is not so fond of other cats (and a husband who would kill me for even considering another pet. :p )

That makes sense. My little black cat Pepper, though, wasn't much bigger-she weighed only 4 pounds until she was about 15 years old-then she went up to 5 pounds. It used to shock people when they asked how old my kitten was, and I'd say 14 years!

Some cats are small. Mine are about half of what a normal size cat should be.

but this little darling is just the CUTEST with her fluffy tail:cloud9: I hope she finds a home soon:fingerscr

Bella's K,I went to my vet today to pick up meds for Rocky and I ALMOST ended up with a cute orange kitty, who had been returned to HS by some moron,my vet also had 4 little 8 week old kittens all grey, who had been dumped in box outside Humane Society.
I left my vet absolutely heartsick, wishing I could have taken them all:sad:
Our HS,fosters out kittens,so the older cats will have a chance to get adopted.:thumbs up

Lewis is totally in love with Sheba, and it’s reciprocated by her too :lovestruck: personally, she drives me nuts! Should have called her Scotch (as in tape), Glue or Shadow, lol. I’ve rarely seen a dog so permanently glued to her people. Other than that …

Her tail is now perfectly healed, and the fur growing back to hide the fact that it’s a little short(er).

The wound on her bum is covered by fur again, but it grew back almost white, so it looks like she has a “bulls-eye” waiting to be shot at :D

She was groomed on Monday, and came out of there prancing! SO proud of being clean and pretty :cloud9: too funny.

I got a Halti for her and Dani, they were pulling more and more, trying to overdo eachother. Dani had tried the Halti before and hated it. This time though, seing that Sheba hated it (too), all of a sudden she played the Diva and danced down the street happy as a lark ;) I just cracked up, she was so funny! Sheba stopped squirming when she saw the front door of the house. But they weren’t pulling!

:cat:

Misti … a chapter apart that one! What to say? She’s a growing kitten! Anyone who’s had one, even more so with a dog or two, know what I mean. She’s running circles around both dogs, charmed Lewis into a cat-lover, ignores me when she’s not all over the kitchen counter and stove; walks all over our key-boards and sits so she blocks the screen of the PCs, boxes other animals on TV, boxes Dani in the nose, sleeps with Sheba, kills the cardboard trays the water bottles come on (we leave the plastic over it, she rushes in, and out the other end!), plays hockey with any plastic water-bottle-top she can steal from anywhere, and comes purring into the bed at any time she pleases during the night :goodvibes: in short, she’s a healthy 5½ month old kitten!

Her one funny thing though … Ricolas! She’s discovered that they are hard and thereby make noise on the floor when she dribbles them around. So, she’ll hunt down a bag of Ricolas and fish one out to play with it. The trouble is, Dani got curious, and unwrapped one with her teeth one day, and in doing so licked the Ricola. Result: we now have two Ricola-addicted animals. One plays with them, and the other eats them! Clank, crunch :grouphug:

are Ricolas all natural?!?
Isn't it a cough candy that has medicine in it?? I don't take pills so i don't know...but i'd be careful not to give anything like that to pets.:o

we want new pictures :D :thumbs up

I also agree and would keep them in a drawer out of reach. One isn't going to do much harm but I wouldn't leave them lying around.

I also agree we need new pics. :D

SARAH
January 18th, 2007, 04:53 PM
We're not exactly dishing them out :) Misti has a way of knowing where they are hidden and manages to fish them out. We're over our coughs now anyway, so there aren't any in the house!

As for pics ... ask Lewis  he's the technical one.

I was wondering if that lady had anymore small cats that needed homes. I'm currently looking into adopting a small dog in Montreal but having a hard time. So I figured why not go adopt a kittie or a cat instead? Since my kids love cats and our cat would love the company. Thanks
:cat:

Destine, there are hundreds and hundreds of cats/kittens needing homes in the Montreal area,I am sure you'll have no problems finding one.:cat: in this Forum we have several members who rescue cats.
You have 2 children under 4yrs old, that might be a problem with some rescues:confused: I know my cats are afraid of 'little people'but they are just not used to kids.Good Luck!

Hi all,
Long time no see hope to be back if this person leaves us alone !

Anyway lots of things going on we bought a house and the furballs will have much more place to run around as of June 4th when we take possession of the house. Nice area Pincourt . We can literally leave the house walk down two houses and then we have this HUGE lake that we can walk along with Dani and Sheba.

Also I'm anxious to see if Sheba likes the water as this house came with an inground heated pool so maybe it will be a good way for her to stretch her muscles with less stress on her joints.

Anyway here are some pics Im sorry they are so big but my blackberry which was I always have around seems to take huge pics :)

We'll look for a male when the time comes, to even things out a bit, lol. 5-8 months old should go well I think. Or younger, I don't mind, Misti will help teach him manners (if she gets any herself first that is!)

jiorji

i hear that getting a younger cat or a cat that looks smaller in size helps when introducing cats because they're not so intimidated by them and they don't get as defensive.

chico2
January 21st, 2007, 03:47 PM
I never really had any problems introducing a kitten to my grown cats,a mature cat would take much longer,Rocky goes ballistic, just seeing one outside.
I doubt I'll ever get a new cat,at my age,but I think if I was to get one,it would be from HS,there are soooo many needy cats out there:sad:
