Alright heres the deal my min. pin. has broken his dew claw. It's weird its almost like when we rip a nail it's not all the way through thing is it's almost half way up the nail I can see the nerve/vain underneath but that has not opened yet. It looks as though it it broke all the way someone cut his nail really short. I am concerned that whats underneath may open and he may bleed to death or something? Please help! maybe someone has had something like this happen to them before? maybe?
Thank you!!:pawprint:

Normally, when this happens, you get the nail removed. If it happens once, it's likely to happen again. I suggest you see your vet and discuss options with him/her (sooner than later so it doesn't get infected in the meantime).

THere may be a lot of blood but he won't bleed to death. If it is just the nail that is split, put tape around it for now to help prevent it from splitting more until he can be seen by the vet
