We have 3 cats at home and one of them had these black dots under the chin and sometimes they feel hard/scab like. Is this chin acne or a type of mite and how should I treat this. I have heard that chin acne (if it is that) can be caused by using plastic bowls (which we use) and simply changing to ceramic or steel bowls will take care of the problem. Any advise out there?

please take your cat to the vet to get a proper diagnoses
either way changing bowls would be a good idea, plastic bowls are not very good

It could be anything from allergies to skin cancer. I'd make an appointment with your vet to get a diagnosis. Please let us know how it goes, I'm curious to know what it is. I knew a guinea pig that developed cancer at the site where his belly had been rubbing over his oversized plastic dish for many years. A friend at the time who worked in cancer research said it was likely the irritation that triggered it. I'm not trying to scare you I just wanted to share the story because I think sometimes we take these things that seem minor for granted. Good luck:fingerscr
