ok so prin helped me formulate this poll better than my (lame) other one... thanks for your participation, everyone! it will be cool to see where the weight balances in the end, LOL! :thumbs up

heh heh I just figured out who the exception is...

Maika! She's a large but still growing, right? :D

October 30th, 2006, 02:15 PM
maika, aka our styrofoam dog, will never be more than 80 lbs fully grown IF she even manages to get that heavy!! so... she'll stay in that category for good :) Her weigh-in a the vets last saturday was a measly 71 lbs, for a one-year old akita. goes to show the BYB genes in action! :o

Yeah, Boo's a styrofoam doggy too. Everybody expects him to be a lot heavier than he is. For the first 4 years of his life he was around 80lbs. Now, he's 90, and I guess he's finally done growing (even though my brother asked me last week if he had gotten bigger again).:D

Tucker is just the opposite, he looks so small when all curled up in a ball, and even standing, he doesn't really look that heavy. most ppl don't believe us when we say he's 50 lbs.

ok. both maia and sam are on there now :thumbs up nice job with the new poll!

Angies Man
October 30th, 2006, 03:13 PM
I suspect that Angie is small for a 6 month old Standard Poodle, she is only 39 pounds. Not terribly thin, good health, just small. Fine by me, she's a really nice size.

Breeder lady said that she thought Angie would probably be quite small and calm. She loves to play but is living up to expectations.

Neat pole - so many options (the exception seems to be for people who have a small dog with a medium or large dog:p )

Dodger is most often 60lbs but it does depend on his fitness level. Most people think he's about 40lbs - his chest is what weighs him down:D

Ours range from Cass and Macie at 42 pounds to Cole at about 65. I think we have almost 300 pounds of dogs living here... Hey!! No wonder we're going through so much food!

I picked a couple choices on the poll because I have Candi who is 12lbs and Rocko who is 68lbs. pretty big difference lol.

Maybe need to change the heading ......... "one choice per dog" ??????
2 minis ..... 2 mediums.... 2 large .....

I know Nikki is like having muliples when she becomes hysterical does she count as 2 smalls :p

I voted my choice is not here since I have 4 dogs ranging from 12 lb to 85 lbs

132 for The Lad, 97 and 86 for The Goils when last weighed at the clinic. Bridie is a chunky monkey :pawprint: though and could stand to drop a few pounds.

I think I messed up. I believe I am the exception with 1 giant, 3 minis, 1 medium and soon to be 1 large.

Even though they are the same height, Bronwyn is a medium at 60ish pounds and Fingal is a large at 80ish pounds-and to me, they are both medium sized! Although when we're out walking, many people avoid "the big black dogs" .

Hunter's weight varies from 85 to 90 pounds, depending on how much time he spends around the "grand-parents"

Cassie, in the last poll, I thought was 25 pounds, but her last weigh in was at 31, so she moved into the medium category. She is a large dog in her mind though;)

My vote is in, the old man tops the scale at a big 63lbs and the big girl 140+
(I always thought of Hoover as a med dog, hubby and groomer said lrg, you gals say med so what is he????) 63lbs of pure old man love:cloud9:

Libbyp, I think medium is like Cockers...mine are goldens and everytime I buy accessories for them it says large.

Yeah, Buster fits into the top end of the medium range....but all the clothes and stuff I buy for him is large  I consider him to be large....but maybe because of the amount of energy he puts off, he seems alot bigger than he actually is :)

but all the clothes and stuff I buy for him is large

So he's a "YO" dog :D

Keep in mind that the creators of this poll are large breed lovers... Boo is large but wears x-large things. It's the clothing/accessory sizing system that's off.:D
