Cat vomiting white, foamy stuff and smacking lips

October 29th, 2006, 07:40 AM
This morning my cat, who is 4, vomited about 9 times in a row little puddles of a white, foamy substance. There was no food remains or blood, or any mucus-like substance at all. It literally looked like the foam off a latte or something. And while doing it, she'd pause inbetween vomits and smack her lips together, kind of clicking her tongue to the roof of her mouth.

Any ideas? She's stopped now, and is not in pain or anything. She has had all her shots, and is eating and drinking and using the litter box normally.

The only variable is that we did begin introducing a new kitten into our house 3 days ago, so is it possible she's vomiting due to stress at getting used to the new kitten? But you would think she'd vomit right away in protest or something.

Please post you thoughts, Thanks!:ca: :cat:

"If your pet is vomiting, bleeding, has diarrhea etc. seek vet care. "

As per rules of this board you should go to the vet, maybe the kitten has brought in a virus of some sort.

Please post with an update.:fingerscr

Good luck

This sounds more like she ingested something...take her to the vets. The "smacking lips" would really worry me. Please take her in. No one can tell you anything online; she needs to be seen

The members are correct. Please take your cat to the vet and post back with an update.
